Galway Youth Theatre Galway Youth Theatre was established in 1991 to provide drama training for young people between the ages of 15 and 24 from Galway City and County.

GYT provides a performance programme that aims to give participants training in various performance disciplines. GYT is committed to presenting a diverse repertoire that embraces classic, new and innovative plays. Our aim is to present these plays to the highest standards and give audiences a varied and interesting choice. Galway Youth Theatre’s aims and objectives are:
To make theatre accessible

to all young people, helping youth develop a love for
theatre and establishing audiences and artists for the future. To provide professional training that enables young people to enhance their creative and technical skills, making a career in the Arts a viable option. To present young people with the opportunity to create innovative theatre forms, reaching professional standards. To provide an outlet that enables young people to develop interpersonal skills. To bring the arts closer to young people from all socio-economic backgrounds through our Education and Outreach work.

We are delighted to announce our cast for our upcoming production with Hall Theatre!

The world premiere of Finding Sophie, a new play by award-winning writer Christian O’Reilly, directed by Andrew Flynn is the highly anticipated sequel to the award-winning Sanctuary, produced by Blue Teapot Theatre Company.

The four-strong cast features Kieran Coppinger and Charlene Kelly, both members of the Blue Teapot Theatre Company who starred in the stage and screen versions of Sanctuary; they will reprise their roles as Larry and Sophie. They are joined by award-winning actors Denis Conway (Hangmen, Sive, The Lonesome West, From a Low and Quiet Sea) and Anna Healy (Audrey or Sorrow, Druid O’Casey: The Dublin Plays, The Last Return).

Christian O’Reilly (Unspeakable Conversations, No Magic Pill, Sanctuary) and Andrew Flynn (The Ferryman, Hangmen, From A low and Quiet Sea) reunite once again to present the world premiere of this Decadent Theatre Company and Town Hall Theatre co-production, which will premiere at the Town Hall Theatre, Galway from 5-13 September.
