Mixed media artwork that explores the theme of ‘home’ offers a captivating blend of materials and emotions. Disparate elements, like acrylics, found objects, paper and photography, are fused to craft a tapestry of sensations. The concept of ‘home’ transcends bricks and mortar, delving into the intangible, evoking nostalgia, safety, and belonging.
In these works, one might find a canvas juxtaposing vibrant cityscapes with cozy exteriors, illustrating the dynamic tension between urban hustle and domestic tranquility. Layers of paint, collage, metal, old jewelry, and varnish form the intricate layers of memories that constitute our sense of home. Recycled materials speak to sustainability, reminding us that home extends beyond personal boundaries to the environment we share.
Textures abound - rough, smooth, and everything in between - echoing the complexity of human connections that create a sense of home. These artworks are an exploration of the universal longing for a place where the heart finds solace, the mind finds peace, and the soul finds belonging. They remind us that home is not just a place; it's a feeling, a memory, an ever-evolving work of art.
