Blue Hanley Stilt-walker, fire performer, walkabout/parade character available for hire. Also teaches classes; circus kids say the darndest things

I joined Macnas in March 2007 and Galway Community Circus in September 2008. I've continued to work with both organisations since. I also study theatre in NUI, Galway, as part of my four year degree. I've been stilt walking since 2008 and began performing on stilts professionally in 2010. Since then I have worked as a stilt walker for Macnas, Arcana, Fidget Feet and LUXe, as well as being hired in

dependently. I've worked at many events around the country including many national sports events such as Australian Rules, local parades and large events like the closing ceremony of the Volvo Ocean Race, 2012. In Galway Community Circus we have one main show every year. I usually perform on trapeze and stilts for this. Last year we trained in acrobatic stilts and this year in harness. Our group, the Senior group, also set up a smaller in-house show during the year. I perform at many events in the college, most often fire performing during conventions. I also run the the Cumann Dramaiochta (The Irish Drama Society) in NUI, Galway. Less related to performing, I enjoy travelling, meeting new people, seeing shows and visiting other youth circuses. I also represent Galway Community Circus at the National (UK) Youth Circus Forum, and act as vice-chairperson.
