Bonjour Paris, host city to our first Erasmus+ adult education mobility, which is giving actor Paul Connolly the opportunity to deepen his passion for film in a two week study of practical filmmaking at , Paris School of Film & Media. Accompanying Paul in Paris is Creative Enabler Michael Patrick Breen and Barry Ryan.

Although more used to be being in front of the camera, Paul has been increasingly more involved behind the scenes on some of our short documentary films, being a trainee Assistant Director, Boom Operator, Production Runner and represented Blue Teapot at Oska Bright Film Festival (UK) at screenings of our short films.
This mobility is sure be of huge benefit and inspiration to Paul.
Merci Beaucoup Léargas +

Last weekend, our Community Theatre Programme Sparkle (teen) participants presented Winter Blues, devised & directed by Raphaël Adams, who told us "As the sun is finally coming out a bit more, this show is about shedding our last layer of winter clothing and embracing spring in all its colours. While this production might be on the surface about scaring winter away through music, it is also one about discovery and finding joy in being together." Bravo Sparkle and congrats to all the cast & crew on a sparkling performance!

Recently, some of our actors, including Cathal Scott-Reynolds, (interviewed below) came together with Safe to Create to talk about what the initiative means in their career as artists. Conversations focused on the real pressures of working in the arts, the need for safe, professional environments and how having clear guidelines in place allows creativity to thrive.

This project provided not only an opportunity for our actors to share their personal journeys, but also to be recognised and, importantly, remunerated as professional artists for their contribution. This session was a part of our WorkAbility: Inclusive Pathways to Employment Programme co-funded by Department of Social Protection Government of Ireland and the European Union.

We'd like to hugely thank Smurfit Westrock for providing cardboard for Theatre Production workshops, taught by Brendan Savage. The workshops introduced basic set and prop-making in a practical, hands-on way. Using cardboard, our ensemble explored simple design ideas while working together, resulting in a set for 'Inis Mór Bandits vs Athenry Aliens' presentation.
We are extremely grateful to Smurfit Westrock Packaging Solutions - It's made a meaningful difference to what everyone has accomplished.
