Finishing out our amazing band this weekend will be our fiddler extraordinaire and musical director - Seán O'Dálaigh 🔥

Seán was born in Germany, to a musical family of 7. After moving to Ireland at the age of 3, he was surrounded by Irish music and began to learn the fiddle from a very young age with Paula O’Regan, where is love for the fiddle evolved, while also playing in local sessions with his family and countless amazing musicians. At the age of 13 he began to learn the guitar, and also began writing songs. In this time he also became a core member of his family's band called Trazz, a traditional Irish group who toured Germany and played all over Ireland.

Since this Seán has come a long way, studying the BA Irish Music and Dance in UL, where he graduated with a First Class Honours Degree. During his time in college he had the chance to learn from and collaborate with incredible musicians from all walks of life. One of his earliest projects was Sean's Walk, a trio Seán started who performed songs that Seán had written over the years. Since this, Seán has been part of many different projects such as The Third Space ensemble; a group that looked at fusing Irish traditional Music with Indian Classical Music. His most recent and current projects however are Hoodman Blind and megaTRAD. Hoodman Blind are a traditional-based trio who focus on bringing a new light to Irish traditional music by taking influences from many different genres such as Appalachian and Scandinavian folk music. megaTRAD are an improvisation based trio who, while rooted in Irish traditional music, use electronics, effects pedals and influences from many other genres to offer a wide range of sounds. They take the idea of an Irish music session to the stage by playing, not to a strict arrangement, but by listening to and bouncing off each other’s playing.

Seán's music has brought him to play all over the world from the French Alps to America as well as playing in many festivals throughout Ireland such as Electric Picnic, Other Voices, All Together Now, Soma Festival, Limerick Fringe, Galway Fringe, Willie Clancy Week and many more.

Completing the dancers for tomorrow's performance is our artistic director and choreographer - Ashley O'Toole 🎉

Ashley began dancing at the age of 6 with the Haley School of Irish Dance based in Massachusetts, USA. Under the tutelage of Maureen King Haley, Ashley’s love for Irish dancing blossomed. She competed and performed with the Haley School for 21 years. In 2017, she turned her focus to the creative and performance-based side of Irish dancing. Ashley completed the MA in Traditional Irish Dance Performance at the University of Limerick where she had the opportunity to learn from many different dance artists and choreographers, and has been pursuing a professional dance career since. Based in Ennis, Ashley has toured around Ireland, France, Germany, Belgium, Serbia, and the United States (including on Broadway) with professional Irish dance companies.

Over the years, Ashley has choreographed and performed many of her own creations, including a solo piece for the television programme An Ríl Deal, and a group performance for the opening ceremony of the World Masters Ultimate Club Championships held in Limerick.

Ashley’s passion for Irish dance translates in her performance and choreography style. The relationship between the dance and music is a magical space, and that drives the choreography. In Beats of Éire, Ashley brings that love and passion for traditional Irish dance and music alive and invites the audience to experience it first-hand.

Next in our dancer lineup is the very talented Conor Nolan! 🌟

Conor is a former Munster Champion, and multiple world-medal holder in CLRG competition. Since his days competing, Conor has performed in shows all-over Ireland. Most notably, he has been entertaining in Bunratty and Knappogue Castles in Co. Clare for the last 10 years, and is looking forward to joining the Beats of Éire crew!

🔥The incredible Cillian O'Dálaigh is our next featured musician

Cillian O'Dalaigh has spent his life playing music in various forms and places, starting out his musical journey playing flute and guitar with his family band "Trazz/The O'Dalaigh Family", before attending University of Limerick to study a BA in Irish Music and Dance. As he approached the end of his time in UL, he was approached by budding international folk group "The Outside Track" to become their guitar player, with whom he toured the world for almost 8 years.
Having taken some time out after his run with "The Outside Track" to play in some local shows and tourist events, he launched his passion project megaTRAD with his brother Seán and long-time friend Denis, in which they explore improvised limitless fusions with Irish Traditional music with the use of various FX pedals.

✨ Up next in our fantastic lineup is one of the fabulous dancers - Maëlyss Gérot

"My name is Maëlyss Gérot, I’m 19 years old and I’m from France. Dance has always been a part of my life—I’ve been dancing since I was two and a half years old. After exploring various styles such as American tap dancing, hip hop, and street jazz, I discovered Irish Dancing in 2015 and immediately fell in love with it. For the past four years, I’ve taken part in the qualifiers for the Irish Dancing championships, and this year marks my second consecutive participation in the world championships. I study Irish Dancing at the University of Limerick and am also a member of the Trebles Makers group in France, where I have the opportunity to teach small groups of students."

🔥 Meet the next musician in our savage lineup- David Stone!

David Stone is an uilleann piper and flute player, born and raised in Waterford City. He is an accomplished solo performer with multiple All-Ireland titles and has previously collaborated with FOM Productions and the band FullSet.
Now living in County Clare, David is a frequent contributor to the traditional music session scene and volunteers with the Ennis Trad Festival

🌟 Meet The Cast 🌟

Introducing the incredible cast members you'll see at the Wings Festival performance on the 22nd February!

First up, one of our talented dancers- Katie Moran!

"My name is Katie Moran and I’m an Irish Dancer based in the Midlands of Ireland. After learning how to dance at the age of four, I have been in love with the art form ever since.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of competing at both national and world level- earning high placements in major competitions such as the World Championships. I’ve also had the opportunity to teach and perform in several countries, sharing my love for Irish dance with different audiences and students.
I'm thrilled to be joining this exciting new chapter with the Beats of Éire team as they launch their newest venture."

🌟 Next up in our incredible lineup is one of our exceptional musicians- Denis McAuliffe! 🔥

Denis has been creating and playing music from a young age. His interest has always laid across music and sound as a whole, rather than being genre or instrument specific. Traditional Irish music was the avenue that was most accessible to him growing up in Co. Clare, Ireland, so his speciality is in Irish music.

His desire for creating sound led him to pursue a Bachelor of Music from the University of Limerick. Denis has contributed to and founded countless projects including: Spirit of Ireland Show, Shannon Estuary Concert Series, he was awarded "Best Act" with megaTRAD at Templebar Tradfest 2020, is mandolinist in Atlanders, and has performed internationally and is a session musician at home in Clare, Ireland.
