We went to the opening of Paula Corcoran & Cornelius Browne's exhibition in An Gailearaí, entitled Homebirds: A Duet in Paint. For me, it's one of those exhibitions that you leave with more than you expected at first glance. You need to go back for a second look, you slowly process the themes from afar, the relation between the works, and how I want to piece together my memories of the original view and now. This video encapsulates all of my thoughts about the process of each of Cornelius's paintings, and in a way Paula's too from the way she lovingly edits and directs this. I think their devotion to their art is beautiful, really meaningful for themselves, and those of us that have been luck enough to see it in person. This is not only their legacy, but a it tells their story. Something that can grow with them daily, the paintings in the exhibition and the new pieces that lie ahead.
