We have more good news to share! 🥳

Following on from works last September to improve the playground, work has been completed to resurface the area under the high rider in the playground.
With huge thanks to Meath County Council for working with us on this. We hope you enjoy!

A number of children had to leave the park and playground yesterday (bank holiday) due to falling in dog poo and/or getting it on their shoes.
We would like to remind you that dogs are not permitted in the junior area of the playground - the area within the gates.

Good news. Garden Escapes advise they have scheduled in works for the playground week commencing 25th August. There is a possibility of earlier but that date currently stands. This is the upgrades to the grass areas which will also include some extra matting. Some areas may be sectioned off until matting and turf knits. We trust this will be respected by the community. We hope you are all enjoying a great summer of play in our amazing playground.
Remember, play is intricate and delicate like a web but with children weaving. Challenging, beautiful, unstructured, and natural learning and development.

We are aware of all the repairs etc that need to be made in the playground. We have met with the council and the original design/installation company and repair work is scheduled to take place this year. This work is subject to the availability of the contractors. We are consistently working in the background! Some of these repairs will require closure of play areas for short periods of time. In the meantime, please private message us of any new issues which you may notice. We love how the PlaySpace is being used. We see the benefits to our community and hope that you do too. We are looking for a couple of volunteers to join our small team to continue and build on our work the Park. We meet approximately every 6 weeks, evening time. We are particularly looking for a volunteer who has a horticulture background/interest. It may suit a student of same. Please pm here or any of the team.

Happy New Year everyone from all at Dunboyne PlaySpace Forum. We are looking for a couple of volunteers to join our small team to continue and build on our work in the community. Our new playground and skatepark have now been open for over a year – it is hard to believe!

We hope the entire community has enjoyed our new play space which was only made possible due to the wonderful support and generosity of our local businesses and individual donors!

In good news – we were delighted to receive the regional award for Community/Voluntary projects in the Urban Land Institute Excellence in Placemaking Awards in 2023.

Dunboyne Playspace Forum were also thrilled to receive a ‘Community Group’ award in the Ratoath Municipal District Pride of Place Awards for 2024.

Some remedial work will be carried out in the New Year and we will keep you informed on this. In the meantime we hope you continue to enjoy our local play space. With best wishes for an enjoyable Christmas and New Year!

Good news to report. This morning the committee met with Meath County Council and the contractor to discuss areas of concern in the playground. We discussed a number of options which will improve the surfaces. We’ll have another meeting shortly to discuss costs and finance. Will let you know the workplan when all is agreed.
