A fully interactive, creative, and enjoyable masterclass for participants of all experience levels.

This workshop centres on a series of collaborative exercises and practical tasks designed to explore and illuminate key aspects of theatre directing. Through active, performance-based work, participants will discover how to move beyond intellectual analysis and into the lived reality of the world they are directing and performing.

The session offers an introduction to some of the core practices and approaches taught on the Maynooth University Certificate in Directing for Theatre programme.

Drawing on selected Shakespearean texts, we will demonstrate and investigate a number of the fundamental concepts and techniques encountered by directors in the rehearsal room.

Places are limited. To ensure your place quickly and put a deposit of €12 down.

George directing ‘Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime’.

My decision to embrace an immersive approach, I believe, adds momentum to the storytelling itself and creates a memorable experience for audiences — reminding us of theatre’s unique potential to fully draw people into a world. I think one word sums it up perfectly: “Deadly.”

May 26th-30th.

It was our privilege today to host Michael McCabe, who conducted a captivating voice workshop. Integrating his own distinctive methodology with inspirations drawn from Anne Bogart, Jacques Lecoq, and Pina Bausch, Michael offered a rich and holistic exploration of the actor’s process. https://frontlineactors.com/michael-mccabe/
