There was a great response to the Wexford Playwrights Studio call out and though there were many quality applications from playwrights in Wexford, only four could be chosen for the studio.

Congratulations to Heidi Bowe, Amanda Farley, Jack Matthews and Oonagh Wall, Who were chosen as participants in this year's Wexford Playwrights Studio. They will receive mentoring on development for their plays from Gavin Kostick, Literary Manager, Fishamble: The New Play company as part of the Wexford playwrights Studio 2026 and we look forward to seeing the development of their work over the year.

⚡️ The wait is almost over for For Dolores! ⚡️

Coming to , and next month followed by in Edinburgh in August 🙌

Here’s a sneak peek at our first day of rehearsals!

We were thrilled to be joined by guests from our partnering venues as well as Friends of Fishamble for our very first read through.

Mo (the Scottish one) and Réaltín (the Irish one) partied, played and blazed their way through the Edinburgh student dream.

Set in Glasgow a couple of years later, For Dolores is about friendship, motherhood and coming to terms with your worst mistakes.

Like twin stars in obsessive orbit, it’s a friendship, a rivalry and an adventure. Risk is a delicious pleasure: until it all explodes in the blink of an eye.

How far will they go for love?

Starring Lara McDonnell as Réaltín and Catriona Faint as Mo

A captivating portrayal of four elderly characters living in retirement homes around Ireland. Pat Kinevane’s haunting performance brings to life these sometimes forgotten voices of society.

Critics’ Choice, Los Angeles Times.

📌 Underneath

Sticks and stones didn’t break Her bones, but words and pointing crushed Her. Is Beauty really only skin deep? Does Ugliness hide somewhere deeper?

Underneath is a blackly comic, rich and vivid tale of a life lived in secret, a testament to the people who live on the fringes, under the nose of everyday life. It explores the surface, and what lies underneath.
