is the new Dublin gay scene fixture which adapts the white collar boxing craze to stage a night of good-natured pink collar boxing bouts by first-time fighters from the LGBT community wrapped up in a load of fun for a decade) and sees professional men and women relieve the stresses of their jobs by jumping into a full-size boxing ring and throwing punches at each other! Most have no prior boxing e

xperience, but receive training before being matched with an opponent to take on in the ring - all in a good-natured sense of competitive fun of course! On the night, boxers fight under strict safety conditions wearing headguards, gumshields and extra-safe sparring gloves. The promoters of Glitz and Biddy Barnet’s have teamed up and are delighted to announce that we are bringing this sensation and an entirely new type of social event to the Dublin gay scene…as “B’DECKD! - Pink Collar Boxing” hits Ireland! Our premiere tournament takes place in Dandelion venue on Stephen’s Green on Sunday 30th September next from 6pm and will feature ten bouts (each being 3 x 2 minute rounds) with a backdrop of music, novelty clashes, entertainment, drinks promos, prizes and a full-house of supporters cheering on their favourites. We are working with professional boxing instructors and event managers to stage what promises to be an evening of good sport wrapped up in a whole lot of fun and a new regular fixture offering something that bit different…PLUS each event will be supporting our good cause chosen charities. Anyone interested in taking on an exciting new challenge and participating should email us at [email protected] by 13th August - our first line-up of fighters will then be chosen and announced. Entrants (male or female of any persuasion) should be reasonably fit and no experience is necessary as full training and support will be provided by a professional boxing club and gym. You can pop into DANDELION main bar on Stephen's Green anytime from noon any day and pick yours up or they are also now available for sale from the BOILERHOUSE (at reception) on Crane Lane and from DUBLIN AIDS ALLIANCE (from Brona) at 53 Parnell Square West during office hours. LIVING LINKS: This is a free service run by volunteers which provides practical help, information and support to persons bereaved by su***de. Their main objective is to be there as a friend for the person seeking support.

DUBLIN DEVILS F.C.: Dublin Devils is the capital’s out and proud football team. The team are incredibly excited to have been named as hosts of the 2013 IGLFA European Championships which sees 32 teams from all over Europe come together to play in Dublin from 13th to 16th June 2013.

DUBLIN AIDS ALIANCE: Dublin Aids Alliance is a voluntary organisation working to improve conditions for people living with or affected by HIV and AIDS, their families and caregivers, while actively promoting HIV and sexual health awareness in the general population.

B'deckd" Ireland's new Pink Collar Boxing event launches with its premier tournament on Sunday 30th September next at Dandelion venue from 6pm. This photo here is from our first training session on Tuesday 21st August 2012 which was a bit of history in the making as this was Ireland's ever first official gay fixture in the sport of boxing! Our initial batch of participants pictured will be joined by others this evening Thursday 23rd (making up our full quota of entrants - yippee!) for the second session in their six weeks of training...very proud of everyone! We'll be announcing the good causes and charities that our first "B'deckd" event will support and details of the terrific night of good-natured sport and quality entertainment we are lining up shortly.

b'deckd first training session - tues 21 aug 2012... a bit of history in the making as this was Ireland's first offical gay fixture in the sport of boxing! Our first batch of participants for the premiere Pink Boxing Tournament (set to take place 30th September 2012) commence their six weeks of training with others joining them in the second training session to make a full quota of entrants - very proud!

well the "B'" and the "Dec" in B'DECKD - biddy barnet and my good self - are absolutely delighted about the response so far to our new pink collar boxing event starTing this September and are so exciting about how things are shaping up - we have only a couple of places left for participants and thanks
to the Katie Taylor effect half our entrants are women! Anyone interested in taking on this exciting, new, sexy challenge need to email us at [email protected] BY TOMORROW LATEST (i.e. Saturday Aug 18th) - all those chosen then attend two one hour training sessions each week for the next six week at a professional boxing club in the city centre in preparation for their bout in the Big B'Deckd Boxing Ring on Sunday 30th September against a matched opponent. We will be announcing the chosen charities our first night will support, some great entertainment and people we have on board to make this a social evening of good natured sport n quality fun like no other before it on Dublin's gay scene.
