10 years ago this June we held the "Golden Age of Tango" to officially launch the Fabrik - there were unforgettable times in the years that followed - thank you to everyone for your creativity, style, generosity and sense of fun that have left indelible memories etched into my heart. At the week-end, the Fabrik was handed over to the new Direktor Jim Elliott - with the Fabrik name and plaque living on! When packing up, rose petals and a photo of Casablanca fell from the attic to the floor (see photo) - as though the house was saying goodbye - and reminding me of one of the greatest events we held (at which I met my wife!). What was your own favourite memory/event over the years? Please post a photo or comment to the Fabrik page - and welcome Direktor Jim and Lisa to their new home in the heart of hipster heaven! Mark. P.S. An extra special thanks to all the essential workers who made it greater than the sum of its parts (and were called essential workers before Covid-19 made it cool) - Ana Kane (Mrs), Johan Steyn (DJ), CaitrĂona O'Leary (Maria Callas & Diva!) Kat Ballhaus, (florist extraordinaire and creative director) Ugne Trib Murphy, Amanda Kane, Tasha Kane, Claire Nelson, Ka Sia (creatives/artists) Doris Kane (Props), Martin McGhee & Thorsten Kahl (Photography), Robbie Kennedy (Logistics), ( Tich Makalisa (Piano), Peter O'Neill (cocktails/my own private Idaho).
