Ranelagh Arts Festival

Ranelagh Arts Festival Ranelagh Arts HQ is now at 6 Ranelagh (main st.), Dublin 6, Ireland. We will be open soon for (tiny)

We lost our arts centre at 26 Ranelagh to redevelopment in 2019. But DCC has kindly given us the use of No. 6 Ranelagh, a small shop and office opposite the Luas Station. From this HQ we will continue to support the arts in public and private venues in Ranelagh environs - and in digital space. We run a week to 10 day Ranelagh Arts Festival every September.

“Between The Lines”
Opening Night this Friday April 10th.
6pm to 8pm
Ranelagh Arts Dublin 📍

Ranelagh Arts is happy to announce “Between The Lines” - A show celebrating the recommencement of our in-house life drawing classes, with collaboration from other sketching groups based in Dublin.
The exhibition honours life drawing as a foundational artistic practice - creating a space where observation slows down and attention is given to weight, gesture, proportion and presence.

Quick sketches, practice pieces and off-hand drawings which would otherwise be discarded find new appreciation in demonstrating the ongoing relevance of observation in an artist’s work. Hung together in volume, this body simulates the feeling of fluidity associated with a work in progress and the movement of the figure from pose to pose.

To accompany this message, Ranelagh Arts will also display established works by artists including David Hedderman, which demonstrate how life drawing can act as the underpinning of a wider artistic practice - celebrating the figure not as a fixed ideal, but as something lived, observed and continually reinterpreted.

We look forward to seeing you at the opening night Friday April 10th from 6-8pm.

💚🖤The Story Behind the Scenes:
Ranelagh Arts at 21
It all started back in 2005. A small, passionate group of locals looked around our leafy village and realized something was missing: a stage for the incredible creative energy living behind every door in Ranelagh.

In those early days, there was no permanent gallery or big budget just a shared vision.
☀️We turned local pubs into theaters, churches into concert halls, and street corners into art galleries.
The goal was simple: to bring the arts out of the elite studios and right into the heart of our community💁🏼‍♀️

Since then, the festival has grown from a weekend experiment into a landmark cultural event.
What hasn’t changed in 21 years
is our «grassroots» soul !

We are still powered by volunteers, fueled by local talent, and inspired by the same historic gardens that made Ranelagh a center for entertainment centuries ago.
Today, we don’t just celebrate art - we celebrate two decades of friendship, creativity, and the unique spirit of our neighborhood !
