🎨🥂Each month we host a ‘Tipple with Art’ session, where you can paint your own version of an artwork from our collection while enjoying a glass of prosecco (or a soft drink) and a chat.

This month, the focus will be on Walter Frederick Osborne’s charming watercolour, The House Builders. No experience at all is necessary – one of our lovely artist-facilitators will be on hand to guide you as you work on your own canvas, which we’ll provide, along with all the materials you’ll need.

🗓️ Thursday 23 April, 5.45pm-8pm
🎟️ Tickets available at the link in our bio.

Note: This event is strictly over 18s.

8 sessions Tuesday evenings from 7:45 pm to 8:45 pm starting April 14th to June 2nd.

The Cervantes Dublin Theatre Club begins a new session and will explore the play "Man Up" by playwright Andrea Jiménez.

The play challenges the traditional narrative of masculinity through irony, irreverence, and absurd humor, inviting participants to question established cultural assumptions about what it means to be a man.

At a time when traditional models of masculinity are being redefined, the play creates a space for reflection and for imagining new forms of identity and expression.

Participants will explore and work with the text from both an analytical and practical perspective, examining its themes, language, and structure.

Through character study, the participants will deepen the understanding of the conflicts, motivations, and relationships of the characters further developing their own voices as well as their body language.

The club provides a creative and collaborative environment to strengthen stage expression, presence, and confidence, encouraging exchange and group work.

The participants will continue to study the characters of the play, analyse their situations, their conflicts as well as their emotional processes, motivations and relationships.

The participants will work on different scenes from the play and offer a performance open to the public in the auditorium of the Instituto Cervantes. Date to be announced.

Jason Arday’s story is nothing short of miraculous. From not being able to speak until he was 11, to becoming the youngest Black professor at Cambridge University, his journey teaches us the extraordinary power of persistence, belief, and transformation. It’s a reminder that your beginnings don’t dictate your end. No matter what challenges or setbacks you face, you have the ability to rewrite your story.

We are often told that success comes quickly for the gifted and the fortunate, but Jason’s journey proves that slow progress, persistence, and unwavering faith can create monumental change. His story emphasizes that it’s never too late to start, never too late to evolve, and never too late to achieve greatness. You have the power to redefine your life, just as Jason did, and that potential lies within all of us.

What’s a personal challenge you’ve overcome, and how did it change you? Let’s inspire each other by sharing our own stories of growth in the comments below. 💪💡
