The Design Tower has been engaging with UNIT18, Trinity in the Community to bring the unique skills and expertise of the group to the community. There have been a few events this year and is currently running a clay sculpture course. Next up in the programme is Philip Murphy who proposes that you can make a work of art. The community have a fantastic opportunity to explore their creativity in this set of workshops. Mark the date: Thursday 16 November 18:00-19:30 @ UNIT18 Breda Haugh in conjunction with Trinity College Dublin are delighted to present an evening looking at trades and skills that were active in the area surrounding The Design Tower from the 20th century to present day. To celebrate the launch of the new Irish Jewellers & Silversmiths Guild, 4 esteemed practitioners will discuss their practices at an event at the NMI Collins Barracks this Saturday 27 May. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear Design Tower silversmith Seamus Gill discuss his exquisite work. The panel of speakers also include Eva Lynch, silversmith, Nigel O’Reilly, goldsmith and John McGonigle, horologist.
