Following feedback from both attendees and traders, we're introducing a number of updates to our exhibitor policies for future Comic Con Ireland events.
Our goal has always been to create the best possible experience for everyone attending the show, while supporting genuine artists, creators, makers and independent businesses, but also remember we are human so things do get by us on the day of a busy event (and if it is not flagged on the day we can't do anything about it)
🎨 *AI Generated Artwork*
Unfortunately, we've seen a significant increase in AI-generated artwork appearing for sale over the past year.
While we carefully review applications, we've found that some exhibitors have been swapping products after being accepted or applying on behalf of someone else. As a result, we've strengthened our policies and penalties for anyone found circumventing the application process.
If you see AI-generated artwork being sold, please let a member of staff know. It's much easier for us to deal with an issue during the event than after the weekend has ended.
🎨 *Artist Alley*
Artist Alley is for artists and creators.
Items such as:
✅ Original artwork
✅ Art prints
✅ Comics & books
✅ Handmade sculptures
✅ Crochet
✅ Artist-created digital artwork and finished products
..are all welcome.
However, *mass-produced was never allowed in the AA and now modified mass-produced products will no longer be permitted in Artist Alley.* We've unfortunately seen an increase in tables where a large percentage of stock no longer reflects the spirit of Artist Alley, and we want to preserve it as a space for genuine creators.
🤝 *No Table Sharing or Subletting*
A reminder that applications are assessed based on the individual or business applying.
Please do not:
❌ Share your table with someone who wasn't part of your application/Apply for someone else
❌ Sell products created by someone else that weren't disclosed during the application process.
❌ Sublet your table.
🔞 *NSFW Products*
This has always been part of our policy, but we'd like to reiterate it.
NSFW products are *not permitted* in either Artist Alley or the Main Trade Hall.
This includes items such as explicit body pillows and other adult merchandise. Despite previous warnings, these items continue to appear after setup. This will also include 'swim suit' versions which while covered, are borderline.
If found during the event, they will be removed from sale until the show has ended.
These changes aren't about making life more difficult for traders—they're about protecting the quality of the event, supporting genuine creators, and ensuring attendees know what to expect when they visit Dublin Comic Con.
