We have officially kicked off our Summer Residency and we can’t wait to see you at one of our magical performances this summer! 🎶

First up is our Chamber Music concert, which takes place tomorrow evening, the 19th July at 5:30pm in St. Patrick’s Gateway Centre, Waterford 🎺 🎻 🪉

We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Autism Friendly Waterford and will be presenting our second Relaxed Performance on Thursday, 23rd July at 7pm 🌟 We will present Elgar’s Sea Pictures and the orchestral suite from Ethel Smyth’s “The Wreckers”, arranged by our guest conductor Killian Farrell, in a specially designed performance at Christchurch Cathedral, Waterford 🎼

Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s timeless fairy tale, this lush orchestral fantasy is one of the great hidden gems of the late Romantic era. Completed in 1903, it shimmers with rich orchestral colour, soaring melodies and moments of breathtaking beauty, tracing the mermaid’s journey through wonder, longing and heartbreak 🧜🏻‍♀️ ✨
Long overlooked after its premiere, Die Seejungfrau has become an audience favourite wherever it’s performed; a work that rewards first-time listeners as much as seasoned concertgoers 🎶

We are delighted to announce the return of the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland CONDUCTING FELLOWSHIP 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Now in its second year, the fellowship is designed for emerging conductors on the island of Ireland, and will give up to 2 fellows the chance to join our amazing orchestra on residency and work with our guest conductor 🪄
