Meet Rosa Bowden, writer and performer of Frigid at Scene and Heard.

Rosa is a theatre maker based in London and Dublin. She has a MA in theatre practice from UCD and Gaiety School of Acting. She has worked with Company’s including Sunday’s Child Theatre, Rule of Three Collective, Bombinate and Rough Magic. She is a co- founder of Bump&Grind Theatre.

Time to meet Frigid at Scene and Heard director Hildegard Ryan!

Hildegard is a director in theatre and TV, hailing from Skerries co. Dublin. Hildegard studied English and History in Trinity College Dublin, and Film Production at CFS London. Her graduation short film was selected for the Cannes Film Fest short film corner in 2014.

Hildegard has collaborated withSunday's Child since 2013. She directed My Name is Saoirse, (winner of First Fortnight Award at the Dublin Fringe 2014, the Argus Angel at the Brighton Fringe 2015, and the Best Theatre Award at the Adelaide Fringe 2017.) She directed Overshadowed for the stage, and for its BBC3 screen adaptation. Overshadowed was nominated for a 2018 Rose d’Or Award and won the Mind Media Award for best drama in 2018.

With Eva O’Connor, Hildegard has co-written and directed The Friday Night Effect, which debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2017. Most recently, she directed O’Connor’s Mustard which won a Fringe First and the Summerhall Lustrum award at the Edinburgh Fringe 2019.

Having directed a standalone episode for series 7, Hildegard has just wrapped on directing four episodes of The Dumping Ground series 8 for CBBC.

Bump starts on the other side of the weekend and we have more of the team for you to meet. 🌈🌼🧚🏼‍♀️ Rosa performs and co-wrote Bump. She co-founded BUMP&GRIND Theatre Company with the other two where they met at UCD. She’s an actor, writer and theatre maker who trained at UCD, Fourth Monkey Theatre Company and Battersea Arts Centre. During her time in UCD she received the Ad Astra Performing Arts Scholarship and trained under the direction of Kellie Hughes. She was an active member of UCD Dramsoc and served as Visual Design Artist of the society. Her acting credits include 4:48 Psychosis, My Mother Said I Never Should and Lungs. She’s also a Kim Woodburn aficionado, tequila queen, with a mouth full of quavers.

5 DAYS TO GO until Bump and there’s more of the team for you to meet! Kelley is the producer of Bump. She has worked at Dublin Theatre Festival and the Gate Theatre, Dublin. Kelley fulfilled the role of Artistic Intern at Dublin Theatre Festival in 2015. In the Gate Theatre, Dublin, she worked as P.A to the Director & General Administrator. Producing training includes a six day course spread over five months of Creative Producer Training at Smock Alley Theatre: Smock Generator Course as part of the Scene + Heard Festival 2017 and Producer Training with Irish Theatre Institute in association with The Lir Academy of Dramatic Arts. Producing credits include Home, MEAT, Splash, Broken Strings, New History, Girls Like That. Kelley was once Auditor of the UCD Drama Society while in UCD which is where she met the talented and hard-working messers that are BUMP&GRIND, and the rest, as they say, is herstory. Kelley's other loves include wearing hats and drinking wine and going to other countries. If you ever see her drinking wine while wearing a hat in another country, you know she is in her happy place.
