“A birch forest seen, imagined, and remembered” by performed by is out today!!!
A meditation on the passing of time, this three-movement work holds the listener in three distinct contemplative spaces. Sumptuous musical material unfolds, unhurried. We are invited and then immersed.
This is a work of generosity; it offers revelations as rich as they are gentle. Such artistic spirit belies an incredible precision of compositional craft, an exquisite sense of balance, proportion and timing.
Captured in the unique acoustic of St Peter’s Church of Ireland, Drogheda, Máire Carroll’s utterly sensitive and rapt performance combines a lithe rhythmic taughtness with a touch resulting in pearlescent beauty of sound.
Produced by the composer herself, and following on from Sea Salt & Turpentine, her chamber music debut on the Ergodos label in 2024, this EP is a clear-sighted statement of artistic purpose and intention.
The release and limited edition of the score are available on now!
