Hello and happy new year to everyone! In association with open spectrum, we are starting back with our music and movement classes this Saturday at 12 in Patrician community centre. Open spectrum is an organisation that funds services for children and young people and adults up to 30 years of age who are on the autism spectrum. Hello everyone. It has been a few moons since we have had an update. For anyone who is new to this page, here is a little bit about myself and what I do. I am a music educator, singer, composer and performer. I have worked extensively across many arts settings and my work also includes special education needs. I am passionate about creative music education, working with children as young as three, (and under in some cases) but three is a good age to get into the magic of composition. I love using games and many other creative practices that engage children in the magic of music making. It is not only a lot of fun, but it is valuable for social and emotional development, building relationships and problem solving.

Here is some of what is to come this term!

I will begin the year by running music and composition classes in Blackrock for children from 4-12 years old. We will be working with our voices and instruments and music technology to create new music.

I am going to begin a music class with Open Spectrum who provide services for children with autism on Saturday mornings!

Later in the term, I will begin a class for preschool children in the afternoon.

I am currently undertaking a series of composition projects. One of these is in Westmeath across multiple settings and we have already begun the exciting journey. More on this to follow later in the term.

Lastly, but not least, in the new year, I will take up residency to co collaborate on a creative composition project in Galway.

Today we delved into the magical world of teddies and had an entirely teddy bear themed class. We and our teddies had an absolute blast. As we are nearing the end of the term, I am now taking bookings for September. Get in touch by DM, messenger or via email [email protected]

We made our own instruments today and the children had such a great time. When we return in April, we will be heading towards our third term which will include more themed workshops and lots of fun, educational and creative opportunities. Happy Easter to all of my talented students xx 🐰🐣❤️

What better way to finish up for the Easter break than with making our own instruments. Doing this is not only a lot of fun and creative, but it's important for cognitive, physical and auditory development. Contact me if you'd like to join our toddler music class!

There are only two spots left in our toddler music class on Thursdays at 10am. This is our last week of our boat themed classes which included new original music and where we have been exploring the maritime world through fun, imaginative play and active participation.

I will also start taking bookings for our Thursday afternoon classes for Montessori classes and primary aged children. Get in touch for more information but I will be posting more about this later in the week!
