That’s a wrap on Creative Hubs Summer 2026! ☀️🎨

Over July and August, Creative Hubs empowered children to use their voices through 32 multidisciplinary workshops and performances for children and families across Central, Cabra, Coolock and Ballyfermot Library.

From dance and music to illustration, visual art and performance, artists Monica Muñoz, Kieran Gallagher, Ríona Sally Hartam, Globe Tots, Kate Escollin and Duffy Mooney-Sheppard created new opportunities for children to explore, create and engage with the arts. 💛

A huge thank you to all the children, families, artists and library teams who made this summer so special!

Don’t Miss Our Last BCP Workshops of Summer! ☀️

What if we just invent it? with Róisín White:

In this online workshop be inspired by inventors of the past and dream up fantastical inventions for the future! Together we will look at the weird and wonderful ideas that inventors had for new machines and technologies, some that seemed impossible, and some that became realities.

Big ideas and big discoveries can often begin with a simple “what if…?”, and in this workshop we are going to start working on those big ideas! Through drawing and lots of different materials, we will dream up new inventions. We’ll get our blueprints ready, and design something that even science-fiction hasn’t thought of yet! Materials will be provided via post.

From discovering the wonderful world of Boris and Elmer in 's My Father's Dragon Exhibition, and welcoming our littlest audience members to our interactive baby space by Orla Kelly - we can safely say there was something for everyone at The Ark this Summer 🌈🎉

Excitedly Resting is an immersive, sensory-rich installation inspired by the natural world, taking the form of a soft textile beautiful landscape that young children and their grown-ups to explore together. It was created to be a gentle space that is both stimulating and calm at the same time by visual artist Orla Kelly , assisteed by .

Babies are invited to lie and observe, or explore the different textures, scents and surfaces with the help of their grown-up. Crawlers and toddlers can play and explore, moving under and over different elements.
