Wacken Metal Battle Ireland Annual competition to send one unsigned Irish band to the biggest heavy metal festival in the world, Wacken Open Air.

The Wacken Metal Battle Ireland gives unsigned bands from Ireland the chance to play at the biggest heavy metal festival in the world ‘Wacken Open Air’ as well as a shot at winning a record contract with the world’s biggest independent metal label ‘Nuclear Blast Records.’ Any unsigned Irish band can enter the competition. Entrants are then invited to compete with one another at a series of regiona

l heats between January and March, culminating in a national final in Dublin where one band is selected to play at that year’s Wacken Open Air. In Ireland the Wacken Metal Battle is run by Megalomania in partnership with ICS Festival Service GmbH.
