National Concert Hall Gamelan Orchestra

Dublin's first Javanese gamelan ensemble, originally founded in UCD School of Music, now based in the National Concert Hall.

In January 2014, the National Concert Hall in Dublin received the gift of a complete bronze double gamelan from Sultan Hamengkubuwono X of Yogyakarta in Java. The ensemble, directed by Irish composer Peter Moran, performs both traditional and original works. Rehearsals take place in the NCH Gamelan Room every Tuesday evening.
