GalleryX The Irish home of independent, unsettling and inappropriate art. GalleryX is a new gallery in Dublin, Ireland specialising in figurative and surrealist art.

Our focus is on the fantastical, the erotic and the macabre; on alternative desire and tormented bodies; on the bizarrely beautiful, the unsettling and the grotesque. Art that will question and entertain. Our intent is to facilitate, curate and showcase new alternative work from emerging Irish artists and to host visiting artists from the global community. Our lads had a visit from The Irish Times yesterday and the result was this short video on their site - thanks for sharing it!

I think the video represents very well the scope of the ordeal. Will they make it to Saturday alive? You will have to visit to find out. The gallery will be open most of the time so drop in when you have a moment.

French avant-garde writer and theater theorist Antonin Artaud spent a chaotic, six-week pilgrimage in Ireland in 1937, which ended in his arrest and deportation as an "undesirable alien". This exhibition, and the parallel one in Ranelagh Arts, is a psychogeographical exploration of that visit.
