Underground Films

Underground Films Producers of One Million Dubliners, Patrick's Day, Tana Bana, The Pipe. Winners of 6 IFTAs and 50+

Underground Films believes that a good story can not only entertain, but also transform. Formed in 2007, with the express purpose of developing and producing creative work with a socially conscious slant, we believe that true art can inspire and elicit change. Whether shining a light on secret communities (identities), uncovering a reclusive artist’s work practises (Here/Shapiro) or telling the st

ory of a village fighting against the actions of a monolithic corporation (The Pipe), Underground Films’ critically acclaimed documentary work is a vital part of the company’s slate. Dramatic and experimental projects explore such diverse themes as the effects of grief (Jericho, Joyriders), aging sexuality (Rolla Saor) and the emotional rollercoaster that is family life (Her Mother’s Daughters). We believe that with the right script and approach, new dramas offer a fresh look at our world. In addition to developing and producing our own projects, Underground Films provides a complete in-house service for other companies from research, full production servicing, post-production supervision to international co-production solutions. We also offer extensive expertise in island-wide scouting and location management.
