Roadkill Theatre

Roadkill Theatre Roadkill Productions is a new theatre company, based in Dublin City.

Originally founded by Jeda de Brí and Gillian Greer in late 2013, Roadkill Productions is a company which aims to finds beauty in the obscene - to tell stories with beating hearts, teeth, claws, and a wicked sense of humour. With an emphasis on producing new work, Roadkill is interested in texts that use dark, powerful imagery to tell stories of our everyday fears and challenges. In February 2014

, Roadkill Productions' first piece, Goodnight, Rabbit written by Gillian Greer and directed by Jeda de Brí, ran as part of the Collaborations Festival at Smock Alley Boys School, starring Amila Clarke-Stewart and Jamie Hallahan and produced by Rob O'Donoghue.

Excited to see MEAT this weekend?! Allow me to introduce the final member of our cast, Dee Burke. MEAT is on this Saturday & Sunday, 17th-18th February at 8pm in Smock Alley Theatre Main Space.

Dee's theatre work includesBeautiful Dreamers, AngelMeadow, Vardo Corner, Thirteen, The Boys of Foley Street, Laundry, World’s End Lane, Memory Deleted, Down the Valley for which Dee won the Best Actress Award in the Belltable Unfringed Festival (Anu Productions),Hedda Gabler (Abbey Theatre) Locked (Philip Kelly), Always Alone Together (Game Theory), Macbeth (Boil in the Bag Productions), Revolution(Tracy Ryan), Dolls (Sorcha Kenny), Black Wednesday (Show in a Bag), The End of the Road (Fishamble: The New Play Company) and Out of Service(Directed by Willie White). Television and film work includes Red Rock (TV3), My Baby Girl (BBC), Audrey (Stephen Cromwell), Are we Ready? We are delighted to have Eimear Keating playing Max in MEAT. MEAT is on this weekend for two performances only, 17th & 18th February at 8pm in Smock Alley Theatre Main Space!

Eimear originates from Mullingar, Co. Westmeath and graduated in July 2016 from the Lir – National Academy of Dramatic Art in association with RADA and Trinity. Eimear has recently been workshopping a script development with the Corn Exchange Theatre Company in association with the Abbey Theatre. Since graduating from the Lir she has been involved in such productions as “Running With Dinosaurs” with Gladeye Theatre Company and “Night Shift” which was apart of the Scene + Heard festival in 2017. Eimear is really looking forward to taking part in “Meat” and hopes you enjoy the show!

May we introduce to you Michael, who is playing Liam Neeson fanatic Dermot in New History, opening in only two days in Smock Alley Main Space?

Michael trained at Dublin's Abbey Theatre and went on to appear in many productions there and also in many of Ireland's best known Theatres. He has performed with the renowned Druid Theatre Company and has performed abroad in New York, Torronto and around the United Kingdom.

Most recent theatre credits include 'Donie' in Jack Harte's "LANGUAGE OF THE MUTE" directed by Liam Halligan which ran at The New Theatre in Templebar, and roles in “NOBODY SMOKES ANYMORE”, “THE CAT AND THE MOON” and “THE DEAL”, three of Shiva Productions selected 10-minute plays which toured to several Irish venues and also to London and Paris as part of their “ANGELS IN THE PARK” tour. Film and television credits include 'Sir John Cammell' in the television drama "A DANGEROUS FORTUNE" (Constantin Films/Octagon Films) and the recurring role of 'Yeates' in the BBC's Irish Language television series "SCUP".

With the commemoration of the 1916 Rising this year, more and more information is being unveiled about the participation of women in the most celebrated rebellion in Irish history. In 2016, the women of New History are at the helm of potential revolution in a society of millenials suffering a case of permanent unrest. Will the events of Easter Monday 2016 mark their names in the history books for better or for worse?

Allow us the pleasure of introducing you to Aislinn, who is playing Sam in New History.

Aislinn is a graduate of The Gaiety School of Acting. Her most recent theatre credits include; The Bells Of...(Bez Kinte Productions), The Importance of Being Earnest (Smock Alley Productions), A Boy Called Nedd (Bitter Like A Lemon) and The Swing – a one-woman show which she wrote and performed. Other theatre credits include The Birthday Man (Dublin Fringe Festival - Gonzo Theatre Company), The Coping Class (Grey Eagle Theatre Company) and A Wasteland Harvest (CAS Productions).
She has also worked with collegetimes.ie on several comedy sketches and voiced multiple characters for the DCFM radio series Choices (Dead Medium Productions).
This year Aislinn is due to shoot Chips ‘n’ Kissin’, a short film which she co wrote and will also be heard on a new radio play The Wedding Tree (Dead Medium Productions) which will air on Newstalk in the coming months.

None other than the wonderful Finbarr Doyle joins the cast of New History as Farrell - what does a modern-day revolutionary look like?

Finbarr Doyle is an actor, playwright and co-founder of Sickle Moon Productions.

Theatre includes: The Poor Little Boy With No Arms (One Duck, National Tour), Cirque Des Reves (Sickle Moon / Illustrated Productions, Boys' School), Peruvian Voodoo (Bitter Like a Lemon), Macbeth (Fast Intent, Boy's School), Stones in His Pockets (National Tour), Romeo and Juliet and The Merchant of Venice (Devise+Conquer), Foreign Bodies (Polish Theatre Ireland, Revival), The End of the Road (Fishamble), Conversation with a Cupboard Man and Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll & Mister Hyde (Sickle Moon, Theatre Upstairs).

In 2014 Sickle Moon were the inaugural Company in Residence at Theatre Upstairs, Eden Quay. Finbarr co-wrote three original plays with Jeda de Brí, appearing as an actor in the latter two - Slippers , Tactics and Spectres.

We are only delighted to have Katie Honan on board playing Nora. Find out more about Katie below!

Katie is originally from Waterford but is now based in Dublin. Katie is a graduate of the Bachelor of Acting program at the Lir Academy. Some credits while at the Lir include Mary Stuart in Schiller’s Mary Stuart directed by Conall Morrison, Cinderella in Into the Woods directed by Tom Creed and Irene in Pains of Youth directed by Wayne Jordan. Theatre work includes Poor Little Boy With No Arms (Project Arts Centre, and Irish Tour), Vardo (ANU Productions), Seven Jewish Children (PalFest, The Abbey), Windstealers (Dublin Fringe Festival 2015), Wizard of Oz (National Concert Hall, Wexford Opera House), Fiddler on the Roof (Gaiety Theatre), The Gods are Angry (Theatre Royal, Waterford). Film work includes Braid which showed at the Galway Film Fleadh 2015 and Kaleidoscope (The Lir Academy).
