Ill-Advised Theatre Company

Ill-Advised Theatre Company Say hello to Ill-Advised Theatre Company - bringing musical theatre, comedy, and shameless self-promotion to a theatre near you!

Ill-Advised Theatre Company is a Dublin based theatre company, set up with the goal of bringing accessible musical theatre to the Dublin stage. We believe that you shouldn't have to take out a small loan to afford an evening of professional-standard musical theatre! The company was set up by a group of young professional actors in late 2013, and has since expanded to include young musicians, desi

gners and producers. After enjoying a highly successful and critically acclaimed run of our premier production, '[title of show]' by Jeff Bowen & Hunter Bell in The New Theatre last August - (And yes, believe it or not, the show was actually called '[title of show]'!) - the company hit the ground running in 2015 with an original musical r***e 'Off Key' in The Twisted Pepper in April, followed by a sell out run of the ground breaking musical 'Spring Awakening' by Duncan Sheik & Steven Sater in Smock Alley Theatre. Keep your eyes pealed for exciting updates on upcoming productions!

After 9 sold-out shows, 46 sax solos, 79 dance sequences and an incalculable amount of fish-on-sticks, we have come to the end of FIERCE NOTIONS at Dublin Fringe Festival 2017, and what an absolute whirlwind!

Thank you all for making our run so unbelievably special! And of course, thank you to the beautiful folk of Smock Alley Theatre for making us feel right at home, and the glorious beings at Fringe for making this all possible and giving us a platform to bring our most ambitious show yet.

We were honoured to be nominated for awards in three categories (Best New Writing, Spirit of Wit, Best Ensemble) and to receive the JUDGES CHOICE AWARD. Shtop the lights!!

Thank you to our incredible cast and team of 19 Hibernians who jumped on board, (against better judgement), as part of the Ill-Advised Family and made this show what it was!

And finally, congrats to all of the amazing shows this year who kept us inspired. We are still picking our jaws up off the floor having witnessed the immense talent and skill this fair city has to offer. We will leave you with these images of the gang in action taken by the wonderful Futoshi Sakauchi. G’night Fringe, you gorgeous beasts! See y'all soon! ❤️🐟

Ladies & Gents, to those of you fine folk heading down to Body&Soul this weekend, be sure to pop on over to The Bulmers Lounge at 2pm on Sunday to see our original one-man musical, Eamonn (From Menswear) by Fionn Foley in action.

Fancy dress - Optional
Wellies and remnants of glitter from the night before - Highly recommended

http://bodyandsoul.ie/project/eamonn-from-menswear/

is a rap-infused one-man musical comedy interrogating the essence of Irish identity and culture through an irreverent bricolage of theatre, music and comedy while asking the questions: “What makes someone Irish?”, “Who decides who is welcome in Ireland?” and “Do you have these in a size nine?”
