Polyglot Theatre, in partnership with The Ark, brings the Irish premiere of Bees to National Botanic Gardens as part of Dublin Theatre Festival 2026.
A joyful, interactive outdoor adventure that invites children to step into the fascinating world of bees through play, movement and imagination.
Join us for Bees, a free, 30-minute interactive outdoor theatre show for families at the National Botanic Gardens, Dublin. Bees by Polyglot Theatre is a joyful, interactive work in which children are welcomed into a world of community, communication, wonder, and imagination. Explore a buzzing, humming hive of activity, as three human-sized Bees busy themselves in the creation of a community. Children can follow the performers, play alongside them, transform into bees, or simply watch the action unfold. The bees are fascinating, strange, and beautiful, traversing invisible pathways and mapping delicate patterns across the performance space. Inspired by the mysterious life of bees, this non-verbal performance immerses children in the sounds, shapes, and scents of an intricate, unseen world.
