Belfast Philharmonic Youth Choirs programme provides a unique choral music education for children and young people aged between 6 and 22 in Belfast and the surrounding areas. Singers learn choral music with conductor Lynsey, assistant conductor Caroline, music assistant Annabelle, and accompanist Gail. The Youth Choir loves performing music by composers who are from Northern Ireland and really enjoyed learning SeΓ‘n Doherty's piece, Come and Sing, which cleverly quotes a well-known Christmas piece at the end.
Lux Brumalis is a newly formed project-based chamber choir brought together specifically to record a piece for Choirs for Christmas 2023. The ensemble was founded by its conductor David Yau and is very proud to present its debut performance with its entry of 'O Magnum Mysterium', set by the Spanish Renaissance composer TomΓ‘s Luis de Victoria. The name 'Lux Brumalis' translates to 'Wintery Light' and we hope that our music brings light to those who need it most.

They are all members of one family and have sung together since the young people were very small and now produce a unique blended sound born of their familial relationship. Four out of five members of the group are vision-impaired, including father - Frank who is a musical director of five choirs in Wicklow and the Visionaries Choir, a choir for blind and vision-impaired people in Dublin.
