Founded in 1990, Gormleys Fine Art specialises in contemporary Irish Art from established and emerging artists. We are dedicated to promoting Irish art and are committed to the long term development of each of our artists. As well as our program of Irish Art we showcase the work of important international artists including Andy Warhol, Banksy, Damian Hirst, Robert Indiana and Keith Haring. Our galleries in Belfast and Dublin have a busy exhibition program of events throughout the year and in addition to this we regularly attend major art fairs around the world. We also actively deal in the secondary market sourcing specialised Irish and important international works for our collectors. We are delighted to announce Bloom, a contemporary floral exhibition bringing together the work of Stephen Johnston Fran Mora Jenny Belton and Ian Cumberland , opening at Gormleys Belfast from 17 October–7 November 2026.

Bringing together four distinctive artistic voices, Bloom explores the enduring beauty and expressive possibilities of the floral form through a contemporary lens. Across each individual practice, colour, form, texture and atmosphere are used to create unique interpretations of one of art history’s most enduring subjects.

From bold and expressive compositions to more atmospheric and considered works, the exhibition moves beyond traditional floral imagery to explore the emotional and visual qualities of the natural world. Flowers become a vehicle for exploring colour, memory, light and abstraction, resulting in works that are both visually striking and deeply individual.

We are delighted to announce Perspectives, a new exhibition by internationally acclaimed French artist Patrick Rubinstein.

Renowned for his distinctive fusion of Kinetic Art, Op Art and Pop Art, Rubinstein creates visually captivating works that transform and shift as the viewer moves before them. His signature technique, Kinetic Op Art, brings multiple images together within a single composition, creating an ever-changing sense of movement, depth and perspective.

Artist Feature | Patrick O’Reilly

We’re delighted to showcase some of the beautiful sculptural works of acclaimed Irish artist Patrick O’Reilly, whose distinctive and imaginative work combines classical influences with contemporary imagery, humour and a deep sense of storytelling. Born in Kilkenny in 1957, O’Reilly studied at the Belfast School of Art before going on to establish an internationally recognised career spanning more than three decades.

O’Reilly’s sculptures are instantly recognisable for their expressive characters and playful forms, often exploring themes of childhood, memory, emotion and the human condition. His much-loved bear sculptures in particular combine an endearing sense of innocence with more complex and sometimes melancholic ideas, creating works that invite both reflection and imagination.

His work has been exhibited extensively in Ireland and internationally, with major solo exhibitions in Dublin, London, Paris and New York. O’Reilly has also created monumental public sculptures that have become much-loved features of the landscape, and his work can be found in important museums and private collections worldwide.

We’re delighted to be showcasing a selection of O’Reilly’s beautiful sculptures currently on display at Sheen Falls Lodge, Kenmare, as part of Art at the Falls. Set amongst the woodland, river and gardens of the estate, the sculptures offer a wonderful contrast between O’Reilly’s imaginative forms and the natural landscape surrounding them.

Art at the Falls is open at Sheen Falls Lodge until 18 October 2026, with the exhibition open daily from 11am–7pm, subject to scheduled closures.

A SENSE OF PLACE | FINAL DAYS AT GORMLEYS BELFAST

There are just a few days left to visit A Sense of Place at Gormleys Belfast, with the exhibition closing on 7 October.

Bringing together six distinctive voices in contemporary Irish landscape painting, the exhibition features work by Martin Mooney, Liam O’Neill, James Brohan, Sallyann Beirne, Hannah Mooney and Eugene Conway.

From rugged coastlines and rural communities to changing weather, fleeting light and working landscapes, each artist brings their own perspective to the places and experiences that shape our sense of place.

Together, the works offer a varied and evocative portrait of the Irish landscape, inviting us to look at familiar places through new perspectives.

If you haven’t yet visited, we invite you to come and experience A Sense of Place in person before the exhibition closes.

Artist Feature | Liam O’Neill

We’re delighted to showcase the work of acclaimed Irish artist Liam O’Neill, whose evocative paintings capture the people, landscapes and traditions of his native West Kerry. Born in 1954 and raised in Corca Dhuibhne, O’Neill draws deeply on his childhood memories and the rural life of the west coast, creating works that celebrate Ireland’s rich cultural heritage and sense of place.

Working primarily in oil, O’Neill’s paintings bring to life the landscapes, characters and everyday traditions of Kerry, from turf cutters and fishermen to musicians, horse fairs and the distinctive landscapes of the Di**le Peninsula. His work is deeply personal, drawing on memory and lived experience to create powerful images of a changing Ireland.

O’Neill has also expanded his practice into sculpture, bringing many of the themes and characters from his paintings into three-dimensional form. His work continues to explore the relationship between people, place and tradition, rooted in the landscape and culture of his native Kerry.

Liam O’Neill is currently one of six artists featured in our Sense of Place exhibition at Gormley’s Gallery, Belfast. His work is also featured in Art at the Falls at Sheen Falls Lodge, Kenmare, bringing his distinctive perspective on Irish landscape and rural life to two important exhibitions.

Nairobi to Neidín: A Tribute to the Life and Art of Christine Bowen

We are delighted to present Nairobi to Neidín, a special exhibition celebrating the remarkable life, work and enduring artistic legacy of Christine Bowen, as part of this year’s Art at the Falls at Sheen Falls Lodge, Kenmare.

Spanning continents, cultures and generations, the exhibition brings together a carefully selected collection of Bowen’s work, from her early years in Nairobi to her later life in Kenmare, or Neidín.

Her distinctive artistic language reflects a deep connection to place, nature and memory, leaving a lasting impression on the cultural life of Kenmare and the wider Irish artistic community.

FINAL WEEK | HANNAH MOONEY — LIGHTSHIFT ✨

Just a few days left to experience Lightshift, Hannah Mooney’s beautiful solo exhibition at Gormleys Dublin.

Drawing inspiration from the landscapes of the west of Ireland, Hannah’s paintings explore the fleeting qualities of light, weather, atmosphere and memory.

Alongside her evocative landscapes, the exhibition features a series of still-life paintings, exploring light and darkness through richly layered colour and expressive brushwork.

Lightshift marks Hannah’s first solo exhibition in Ireland and brings together a significant new body of work.

Final week | exhibition closes this Wednesday, 30 September.
