So here are the top things to do in Sligo, and why it's worth visiting this charming Irish town!
=>It’s known for its literary heritage and rugged countryside. Ruined mediaeval Sligo Abbey has carved tombs and a 15th-century altar. Sligo County Museum displays memorabilia of local poet W.B. Yeats, paintings and Stone Age artefacts.
*It is only 3 hours away from Dublin and it can be a good day trip from the city.
*An adventure of Ireland wouldn't be complete without a pub crawl and Sligo Town is the place to do this. Sip a cocktail, have a cold pint and let your hair down. Whether you want to dance till dawn or just hang out with your friends Sligo has something to offer everyone!
*Eat: Tuco Mexican Restaurant is the place to go with a crowd, great food and a great atmosphere!
*Stay: Strandhill Hostel is the perfect place for groups of any size to stay and enjoy all that Sligo Town has to offer.

Thurles 🇮🇪 is a vibrant and prosperous town, located in North Tipperary and is full of exciting things to do and see. It has a large student population and is easily accessible by train and bus.

Have you ever wanted to explore the 'Garden of Ireland'? The beautiful county of Wicklow is located just south of Dublin along the east coast of Ireland. The Glendalough Valley is located in the Wicklow Mountains National Park and has many attractions to entice, entertain and enthral visitors, from its world-famous Monastic Site with Round Tower to its scenic lakes and valleys, as well as a selection of walks and trails in the area including The Wicklow Way.

** Travel: only 1 hour 30 minutes from Dublin by train!
=> Then enjoy Wicklow Wolf Brewery run scheduled tours every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A visit to Wicklow would not be complete without seeing Victors Way Sculpture Park. An eccentric garden of sculptures crafted in India decorates an Irish green space dedicated to Alan Turing. The 22-acre park includes a series of dancing figures of Ganesh, Shiva and other Hindu deities.
*** Check out food at Biddy's Guinness Beef Stew in Lynhams of Laragh.
=> Then finally, Escape to tranquillity in our woodland retreat at the edge of a small forest in The Garden of Ireland. This self contained cabin is in the grounds of our family home nestled at the front of our mature garden. Situated between Rathdrum and Avoca with footpath access between both villages(20 min from Glendalough).

Adventure fans shouldn't miss this blue flag beach in Curracloe! Possibly one of the best-known beaches in Ireland. Situated about 24km from Enniscorthy and about 8km north of Wexford Town, the area has been sensitively developed as an amenity for visitors to enjoy.

**Travel: Trains departing from Dublin, Connolly Station
(2 hours 40 minutes) & Bike and dip 10km from Wexford town.

**Play: Swimming, surfing, dolphin and seal spotting, dune boarding.

**Eat: There is a campsite in Curracloe with a restaurant on site that serves Italian and Irish food including really good pizzas. The service is good and the staff are particularly friendly. In Curracloe village (3 minutes drive) there is the Tavern Bar or Blake restaurant in Curracloe Hotel. Or head to Wexford less than 20 minutes away where there are many different options for every budget.

**Sleep: There is camping in Curricloe Holiday Park (camping and holiday villas), they have a number of villas, berths for campervans/caravans and areas for tents. Shower block and toilets, laundry service.

This week's destination is Ballintoy.
*Ballintoy Harbour can be discovered in the picturesque village of Ballintoy. Known as a ‘raised beach’, it is located alongside the B15 coast road, 17 miles northeast of Coleraine and five miles west of Ballycastle. Accessed by a spectacular, steep winding road, it is a painter’s paradise with sea stacks, rocky islands, pools and a busy harbour leading to one of Europe’s great cliff-top and wild beach walks. A car park and picnic facilities are available beside the harbour café.
*How to get there from Dublin? Trains directly from Dublin (Connolly) to Belfast-train onto Ballintoy. Buses also available
* Where to stay? => Sheep Island View is a family run business situated in one of the most spectacular parts of the north coast, it is on the designated Causeway Coastal Route and within easy reach of all the major local tourist attractions. The views from the hostel take in Sheep Island, Rathlin Island and the Scottish Islands.
* Enjoy your Red Door Tea Room, a traditional Irish cottage with real turf fire, have your tea and freshly baked scone served on our finest china.

Welcome to Termonfeckin!

Termonfeckin is located north of Dublin in County Louth. It's a small coastal town with charming attractions such as an abbey and castle ruins. Adventure Scale Rating: ****

So, where to stay? Check out Flynn's of Termonfeckin is an adorable guest house situated along a small river and golden fields behind. Breakfast is included and with quaint views.

Then, explore the beach a few minutes from Flynn's. Make a picnic from the local shop and enjoy the fields of Flynn's all for yourself. The golf course also offers food, or if you're in the mood to treat yourself, try The World Gate Restaurant if you want a treat! They use locally sourced ingredients with a French twist!
