Also a HUGE thanks to the dance groups of MyArt Dublin and their parents for giving us the chance to show our new exhibition in Newmarket Square:
a poetic journey through the art of dance accompanied by selected quotes and poems by famous dancers and Irish writers.

A series of 8 pictures that show the hard and marvellous work that has been done the previous years just a few metres of the pump house in Newmarket Square. A local, marvellous work that we are able to share with the Liberties community thanks to the beautiful shoots taken by the local young photographer Zima Balazs.

DO NOT MISS IT the new photographic exhibition in Newmarket Square!

The exhibition will stay in Newmarket Square till the weather permits;)

ENJOY!!!!!!!!

An enormous thank to the six Liberties women that help us to bring to life "WOMEN OF THE LIBERTIES IN ART" project:

Veronica Cahill as Sylvia Von Harden
Liza O'Connor as Frida Kahlo
Mairin Johnston as Rosa Bonheur
Rita Fagan as Rosie the Riveter
Sharon Kelleher as Ann Devlin
Aideen Darcy as Artemisia Gentileschi

This photographic project aims to celebrate the strong women of the Liberties which are the true soul of this area.
Six strong women from the Liberties joined our playful project bringing to life six iconic portraits.
The idea is to express the vital message of these paintings whose core spirit is very current and can be fully represented by these unsung heroines who fight everyday to empower women.
It is also a way to bring art to the streets to celebrate the old masters creating a visual connection among women of all times and places.
This way we wish to transform the city walls into panels of artistic messages to promote women's rights through the persons who best represent their strength, pride and resilience.

Women are murdered, injured and harassed in most countries irrespective of culture, ideology and religion. On Sunday 8th of March we would love to have all of you in Newmarket Square to show support of this cause we feel needs to be highlighted more in media.Everybody is invited to leave their red shoes there. Each pair of shoes symbolizing a woman who is no longer with us due to femicide (murder of women).

The idea is inspired by Mexican artist Elina Chauvet.

We mourn those lost and wish for an end of this madness and horrible treatment of women all over the world!
