We asked former to reflect on their experience, how Aerowaves supported their work, and what they wish for the future of the network.

Simona Deaconescu was selected in 2018 with "Counterbody" and in 2022 with "Choreomaniacs". Her work blends dance, science and documentary approaches, often exploring social behaviour, collective movement and the body as a site of historical and cultural memory. She creates works that are both intellectually rigorous and visually striking.

"Voices of Aerowaves" is a four-part series created by participant Elena Grappi to celebrate 30 years of the network. Recorded during Spring Forward 2026, each episode offers distinct perspectives from participants of the side programmes. In this first episode, Elena speaks with two participants to explore what it takes for emerging choreographers to build an international voice today.

Soon, all the Aerowaves partners will gather in Bucharest at the .ro for the annual selection meeting to select the next Artists. The group will discuss hundreds of submissions from across Europe, as well as the wider activities of Aerowaves and its partners.

We asked former to share their experience, how Aerowaves influenced their artistic journey, and what they wish for the future of the network.

Satchie Noro was selected in 2017 with "Origami", a poetic duet between a dancer and a folding shipping container. In 2026 she returned with "Mizu", created with Company Furinkaï and Théâtre de l’Entrouvert. Her work blends dance, circus and large‑scale sculptural objects, exploring transformation, space and the encounter between human and material.

Ingrid Berger Myhre was selected in 2018 with "Blanks" and in 2020 with "Panflutes and Paperwork". Her work investigates language, meaning and the logic of choreography, often with humour and conceptual clarity. She explores how dance communicates, questions the authority of text, and plays with the audience’s expectations.

Applications are now open for the Aerowaves 2027!
Learn how to make a podcast from scratch: from recording and interviewing to editing, scripting and presenting, with mentoring from Dany Mitzman, broadcast journalist and presenter/producer of .

The Academy includes online sessions (Feb–Apr 2027) and in‑person practice at Spring Forward, 13–17 April 2027 in Limerick (IE).
We are looking for 3 participants based in Europe, proficient in spoken English, curious about contemporary dance, and eager to explore artistic voices through sound. No previous podcast experience required.
Successful applicants receive travel, accommodation, hospitality and a Spring Forward festival pass.
