Corporate yapping!

I had the pleasure of speaking on a panel with two super stars .smyth100 and at The Cultural Diversity Committee.

There were so many take aways but on a personal level I was reminded of the passion I had to improve the experiences of black girls in sport. Being an advocate and shining a light on the experiences of others is such an honour and not something I take lightly.

Always thankful for the opportunity to share my story.

I took the carpet with last night to honour and celebrate our country’s Olympians and what a pleasure it was.

Mic’s failed, phone ran out of storage, people kept walking in front of the camera 🤣 a real challenge but it was all worth it. Some super content on the way. But for now, real proud moment ☘️💚

It’s been a busy December. I had the privilege of hosting EU funding show case recently. Outside of getting to know about all the different funding opportunities in the EU.. I really enjoyed the passion in which people presented each of their ventures. I think there’s such a beauty in people taking about things they really care about. Thanks to The Wheel for having me!

Impatiently waiting for the black/underground scene in Ireland to take off!!!

Last Thursday night there was like 4/5 events that really caught my attention and all of great quality and numbers too. Love seeing the support.

I ended up checking out Offica’s & Toshin’s (vlog in my bio if you missed it xx)

I just get excited when I see what people are doing with limited resources, the more and more we back our own the quicker things will change. There’s a shift coming.. make sure you’re not late to the party.

As Black History month comes to a close, I’m super thankful for the opportunities to speak about my experiences as an individual and a collective. S/o for booking me for your company🖤

A couple thoughts I’ve had this month:

1. Black people are much more than a month so let’s start there.

2. Black history doesn’t start at slavery

3. As Black Irish people we continue to create our own narrative and are literally in the process of creating history for ourselves

4. Creating narratives is uncomfortable. I feel like I’m consistently justifying my existence

5. I prefer just to be. I think many of us have different angles we prefer to advocate and amplify from and I guess I have my own way of engaging.

6. Being hypervisible yet overlooked is very tiring

7. I think we can do more to embrace ourselves ourselves by ourselves and for ourselves.. that might be a conversation for another day.
