Drogheda - you were amazing! The Leinster Fleadh brought thousands of people, of all ages and backgrounds, to the banks of the Boyne at the weekend and boy, did the town deliver.
As a location for top quality entertainment in a safe and well policed environment, the town was immaculate.
For variety, for dining, for a feel good factor, the place showed exactly what many have been advocating for so long.
From walking tours to historic talks, schools, sporting clubs, campfires, brush dancing, the delights of Oldbridge and Mellifont, and multi cultural inclusion, it was all there.
To those that organised it, to the volunteers, gardai, hardworking hospitality staff, the sponsors and so many, many more, the town owes you a lot.
PR like this provides the framework for advancing Drogheda on a national and international scale, from completing vital infrastructure to seeking investment in trade and hospitality sectors.
Build it and they will come is a classic quote. Drogheda lived up to that in bucket loads last week.
