Yesterday at 1.30pm my father passed away. I was so lucky to have such an incredible Dad in my life. Constantly amazed with his calm presence, intellect and off the cuff humour. He had such a brilliant way with words and poetry. But being the typical Poet, he was too humble to promote himself.

He read Ulysses at 17. Didn’t like it. Than read it again at 21 and has always told me it’s the greatest piece of work he’s ever read. I might just have to take his word on that.

Thinking back to the release of old Radiohead Albums, I find it strange to believe that he was younger than I am now. Always letting me know when my favourite band, singer or comedy was on TV. He gave us every opportunity he possibly could.

If God is good he is back with Mom, and our brother James. He lost so many great friends late in his life, so I pray that he’s arrived to the biggest reunion of joy to celebrating a life that helped so many.

He was always the first to like and comment on any of my online posts. Proudly collected every newspaper article from my early years as a struggling comedian.

In a world of chaos, you made it such an easy place to live in.

Thank you for coming into this world Eamon Patrick Cooke.

I'm afraid we've had to cancel this month's comedy club due to poor ticket sales, I blame the weather! ☀️ We will be back next month at Deadly Craic Comedy Club - John Colleary!
