This short recorded reading of ‘The Mother Poem' by Ibrahim Alhelou is part of the Global Theatre Reading, ‘Palestinians are Your Eyes’ on 15th October in memory of Abrahm Saidam, a young Palestinian performer, who was killed on 15th October 2023 as he prepared to join colleagues in Italy to tour their most recent show.

A BOG IS MORE THAN A LANDSCAPE.

It is a place of memory.

A place of wildlife and plantlife.

A place shaped by seasons, people and generations.

And a place whose future matters.

Bogland Hero explores the cultural and ecological heritage of Ardee Bog through the voices of people who know and love the landscape.

Through film, oral history, illustration, live music and the creative responses of young people, the project asks us to look again at the places around us – and consider what we might lose if we don't protect them.
