Join award-winning author-illustrator Ashwin Chacko in Di**le Library on Saturday 21st November from 11am. This event is free of charge and is suitable for primary-school age children.

Together, children will design a brand-new neighbour, explore what makes people feel welcome, and discover how small acts can help build a good neighbourhood.

What does being ‘a writer’ mean to you? Three compelling Kerry writers will share extracts from their latest works and discuss with Kerry Writer in Residence, Emer Fallon, what writing means to them.

Clodagh Healy: poet and playwright
Sean Carlson: essayist, poet and memoirist
Emma Flynn: critic, essayist and fiction writer

Finding inspiration, dealing with rejection, and how to keep writing will be just some of the topics under discussion at this panel event, with the final fifteen minutes open to the floor.

Questions from those starting out on their writing journey are particularly welcome.

Kerry County Council have been generously supporting the festival from the very beginning. Di**le Lit has thrived and flourished since its inception in 2019, and this would not have been possible without Kerry County Council behind us each step of the way. We look forward to another fantastic programme of workshops and events this November.

O Flaherty’s is a traditional Irish pub located in the heart of Di**le. Music and ballad sessions in the pub are plentiful and visiting musicians are welcome.

Leac a’ Ré Gift Shop was established in 1976. It is a family business supporting Irish-made crafts and books for young and old.

Join award-winning author-illustrator Ashwin Chacko for an interactive story and drawing workshop inspired by his book 'The Good Neighbourhood'. Together, children will design a brand-new neighbour, explore what makes people feel welcome, and discover how small acts can help build a good neighbourhood. Through drawing and imagination, they will explore kindness, empathy, friendship, and what it means to belong.

Ashwin Chacko is a positively playful, award-winning author-illustrator and motivational speaker.
