Sunday 19 June at 4pm opens with a fabulous musical trio; maestro guitarist and singer/songwriter Gerry O’Beirne, fabulous Caroline Keane on concertina and the brilliant Teresa Horgan on flute and vocals. Maggie Breen will perform some of her poetry and 5-time World Champion dancer David Geaney will bring the concert and the festival to a crescendo close.

Meet the Musicians & Artists
Gerry O’Beirne is a renowned singer, songwriter, record producer and guitarist based in Di**le. His own compositions blend the passion found in traditional music with the freshness of contemporary song and he has toured the world with many of the best-known names in Irish music. Gerry has toured the world as a solo artist and with the Sharon Shannon Band, Patrick Street, Midnight Well, Andy M. Stewart, Kevin Burke, Andy Irvine, and the Waterboys. He has performed at the White House, opened for the Grateful Dead, played electric guitar with Marianne Faithfull and thought nothing of playing with a Romanian orchestra and choir in a cemetery in Transylvania at night.
Albums include his much-loved first solo album “Half Moon Bay”, “The Bog Bodies And Other Stories: Music For Guitar”, “Yesterday I Saw The Earth Beautiful”, a duet album with fiddler Rosie Shipley and his most recent “Swimming The Horses”.
He has produced albums for artists including Kevin Burke and Michael O’Dhomhnaill Patrick Street, Andy M. Stewart, Martin O’Conner, Kevin Burke, Kavisha Mazella, Sarah McQuaid, Eoin Duignan and Éilís Kennedy.
His songs were celebrated in a special concert at Sligo’s Fleadh Cheoil in August 2015 and his song All Down The Day was nominated for song of the year at the Fok Awards 2019.
Caroline Keane - Growing up in Limerick, she was surrounded by the musical richness of both Clare and Sliabh Luachra, influences which have become the cornerstone of her uniquely vibrant, passionate and emotive style of concertina playing. Now having toured extensively throughout Europe, Canada, America, Australia and New Zealand performing at festivals such as Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, Goderich Celtic Roots Festival, Celtic Colours, Dublin Ohio Irish Fest, Woodford Folk Festival and many others in both solo and ensemble capacities, Caroline is truly a world musician.
In 2006, Caroline was awarded the prestigious Lán Mara award, in recognition of outstanding achievement in national music examinations. She achieved first class honours while studying Irish traditional music at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick. She has most recently graduated from the university’s Master of Arts in Traditional Irish Music Performance, where she again achieved the coveted first class honours. Caroline is a prolific composer of contemporary Irish repertoire. Since 2013, Caroline has been a member of the group FourWinds. Albums include ‘Never Say Goodbye, Say Good Luck’, a duet album with Tom Delaney, which has received rave reviews and international critical acclaim since its release. And she has recently released her debut album “Shine”.
Teresa Horgan has a highly emotive singing style. She was immersed in music from a young age, playing whistle, flute and singing with her family and travelling to festivals together throughout the years and she holds a BA in Irish Music and Dance from University of Limerick.
She has released albums with 'FullSet', 'The Outside Track' and with guitarist, Matt Griffin. She has toured extensively and shared the stage with The Chieftains, Declan O'Rourke, Andy Irvine and more. Teresa is currently working on a new solo album, “Amethyst”.
She has toured extensively with award-winning Pan-Celtic group “The Outside Track” and has shared the stage with some of the best in Irish, Scottish and Canadian trad and folk music during her travels far and wide. She has performed in the National Concert Hall in Dublin, and also on Ireland’s acclaimed “The Late Late Show”. Some festivals she has played at include “Celtic Connections” in Glasgow, “Celtic Colors” in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and several other Irish and Scottish music festivals around the world.
Teresa is originally from Co. Cork and now lives in Di**le, where she is surrounded by, and performs with some of the most talented musicians in the country.
Maggie Breen is a poet based in Di**le, Co, Kerry. Her debut collection of poetry was published in 2013. Her poems have been published in The Stinging Fly, Crannóg and Southword, among other publications. She has worked as project manager/curator on numerous art projects. She has organised and MC'd a series of pop-up poetry/music events to showcase local artists. In her day job she works as curator, project coordinator and creativity consultant.
David Geaney is a Di**le native and five-time World Champion Irish Dancer. Renowned for his ability to get any crowd going, his creativity & attention to detail, David is one of the most sought after entertainers on the scene.
His production Velocity debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2017, receiving several 5 star reviews from national press, with The Scotsman claiming it to be the “dance hour of the Fringe”. He premiered the production in US on Broadway, in The New Victory Theater, where its huge success was hailed as one of the top 7 dance shows to see in NYC by The New York Times!!
David is probably most well known for his time on the world famous talent show, “Britain’s Got Talent”, where he reached the semi finals impressing judges including Simon Cowell and viewers worldwide with his unique performances.
