🎭 NEW PRODUCTION ANNOUNCEMENT🎭

Following our earlier callout for a director, (see above) we are delighted to announce that Colette Lynch will take on her first directing role with John B. Keane’s Sharon’s Grave

Colette’s hope is to make this a fun, creative team production, where everyone’s ideas and input are valued as we bring the story and 1920s Ireland to life.

Join her this Thursday at 7.30pm for a relaxed script reading and a chance to explore the characters and roles.

We wish Colette and you our entire team every success — here’s to a great production again lads...

Warm regards

Here we are again — with September just around the corner, plans are already taking shape for an exciting new term with The Valley Drama Society.

This year, we are bringing one of John B. Keane’s wonderful works to the stage: a play full of comedy, dark humour and unforgettable portraits of Irish village life. It promises to be a great journey from September right through to our St. Patrick’s Nights' performance in Delvin Hall.

Of course, plans can change — and that is part of the magic of theatre. Every rehearsal, every new member and every idea helps shape the story before opening night.

Keep an eye on our page for upcoming audition dates, rehearsal schedules and more information. The video below is just a small glimpse of the wonderful memories made during last year’s productions.

Now, a new story begins. Come and join us — let’s make some fun this year!

The Valley Drama Society are taking a well-earned rest after our production of Dancing at Lughnasa, but behind the scenes we are already busy working on something new and exciting for 2027.

Our neighbours Kildälkey Drama Group are hosting their very first outdoor live performance event tonight…

“But what if the weather is bad?!” I hear someone say…

Don’t worry pet — they have it covered! If the weather turns, all acts will simply move indoors to their Community Hall. Hopefully it won’t come to that… but you know yourself what the Irish weather is like these days!

The forecast is warm and promising, and excitement is building.

We would like to wish Kildälkey Drama Group the very best tonight for what promises to be a fantastic evening. Best of luck to all the performers and organisers who have worked so hard to make this special event happen.

Don’t miss the first ever street performances from their Culture Corner event.

🌻 THANK YOU 🌻

The Valley Drama Group is delighted to share that €3,000 has been raised for the charity, the Friends of the Regional Hospital in Tullamore, through our production of Dancing of Lughnasa.

We would like to sincerely thank everybody who supported us, our wonderful audience, dedicated volunteers, talented cast, generous supporters, and you, the wider community. Your kindness, encouragement, and support made this achievement possible.

It was a truly special production, and we are so proud that together we could contribute to such an important cause.

Thank you all for being part of this incredible journey. 💙🌻

On Thursday 24th, The Valley Drama Group held its Annual General Meeting. Members attended from all areas of the group, including drama cast, committee members, and backstage team.

We were extremely well looked after by Mary Gaffney and her wonderful team in the Drama Lounge, who hosted the meeting for us. The evening included a review of what has been a very successful busy year for the group, along with lively discussion and exciting ideas for the future.

A sincere thank you to everyone involved, and especially to all who came out to support us on such a beautiful summer evening. A very special thank you also goes to Catherine O’Farrell for her stunning cakes... truly unique, personalised and absolutely delicious.

Exciting new adventures are already underway, including free summer workshops based on role play and puppetry, so keep an eye out for more details. Be sure to link in with our new web page to stay updated. All will be revealed soon!!!!!

Once again, thank you all for supporting local drama in Delvin.
