Situated in the heart of Cork City, we are
the little theatre with a big heart ❤️ Our intimate 100 seat theatre stages a wide variety of exciting productions throughout the year. From its humble beginnings in 1976, the Cork Arts Theatre has grown from strength to strength under the direction of its dedicated members and the leadership of its artistic director and board of management. In 2004, than

ks in no small part to the tireless passion of the long standing artistic director, since retired, Dolores Mannion and the then chairman of the board, Rodney Bolingbroke, the theatre was finally granted funding for a long-needed refurbishment. The new theatre reopened its brand new doors in November 2006 with a premiere performance of Patrick Galvin's 'The Cage'. Since then The Cork Arts Theatre has been pioneering many initiatives, including outreach programmes, writer's competitions, schools competitions and community drama festivals to make theatre more accessible to the whole community. Over 40 years on since its inception, the Cork Arts Theatre continues to provide a vibrant programme of events and looks forward with great confidence to the next thirty years. MANAGEMENT TEAM:

Opening July 8th | Broby Laundry Basket (Model 7800)

For Noel and Lily, married thirty-four years, life is comfortable and predictable in the best possible way. That is, until a ghost from the summer of 1986 decides to sprint back into the spotlight.

Presented by Featherbowl Theatre Group, Broby Laundry Basket (Model 7800) blends humour and heart with a dash of nostalgia. It’s a story about the things we hide, the truths that catch up with us, and the unexpected ways we rebuild – sometimes with an Allen key.

Written by Brendan Griffin
Directed by Hanan Sheedy

Cast: Ann Dorgan and John Morgan

Set Design: Hannah Lane
Lighting Design: Jamie Feehily
Sound Design: Joseph Murray

"I'm proud of managing to continue working in the arts, it's hard but rewarding."

We're delighted to see Cathy Walsh (Movement and Intimacy direction for Constellations) featured in Wednesday's Echo LIVE 'Person to Person' interview!

Working between Cork and Berlin, Cathy brings a wealth of experience in movement and intimacy direction to the production, helping to shape the physical language of Nick Payne's thought-provoking play.
