"I cannot think of the deep sea without shuddering at the nameless things that may at this very moment be crawling and floundering on its slimy bed, worshipping their ancient stone idols and carving their own detestable likenesses on submarine obelisks of water-soaked granite."

- H.P. Lovecraft 'Dagon'

Howdy folks. Late night post from me here because I'm too happy to have painted something for myself after 13 months. Knocked out this little fellow who has been sitting primed since may 2025...an awesome mini from Mammoth Miniatures

I haven't painted a Warhammer miniature to completion since last year. This Death Guard from the Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team Starter Set changes that a little. He's a bit basic, but overall I'm happy with the result. Tried a few new things.

Mental health hasn't been fantastic lately hence the radio silence on posts. WIP.

Another poetry reading from myself. This time inspired by the awesome Trench Crusade from Mike Franchina, Tuomas Pirinen, and the rest of the team.

Art by Mike Franchina and Artem Demura used with permission.

'Dulce Et Decorum Est' by Wilfred Owen
Performed by me.

I studied this poem in school many years ago, and it has always stuck with me. Showing the true horrors of war and particularly trench warfare of World War One specifically, I remember at the time that it was quite possibly the darkest piece of schoolwork we had encountered and had a bit of an impact on my history, horror and dark fantasy obsessed young mind (not that much had changed!)

Let me know what you think and if you'd like to hear more readings. Share if you enjoyed it! I'd really appreciate it.

Anchorite miniature sculpted by the amazing as part of the setting and game system miniature range. The brain child of and .

Working on these Trench Pilgrims for a friend. So excited for them to be my first completed project of 2025.

'First o' all I hang 'em,
Till they're nearly dead.
But 'afor they die, I cut the rope;
and then chop of their head!'

Finished this fellow as a test piece for some more Flesheater Courts to come later. Strange feeling painting something with so little conversion work. I settled for a fancier base, mind.

Painted in just under 2 hours.
Photo taken at the airport. Not my usual spot for photos I must say.

- Jeremiah 51:20

It's been a while but here is my rendition of a Trench Pilgrim Communicant from the amazing world and game of by and , respectfully.

I really enjoyed sticking to a low contrast palette for this miniature and think it helps really sell the gritty dark feel of the universe and mini.

The miniature itself is from the Church of Wrath STL range by 'Cast N' Play'

As usual, I may not post very often, but I always love to hear your thoughts. And if you've been enjoying delving into the darkness of Trench Crusade, let me know!

So we're on Threads now! I'm not sure what's changed to allow some more EU countries from joining, but here we go! Like the weird lovechild of Instagram and forums...or a Twitter that isn't being pile-drived into the ground by a certain manchild...

Let's give it a go anyway! Unfortunately you can't post on Instagram and threads simultaneously, but maybe that will change in the future! 🤞

Took the opportunity while waiting on a lasagne to cook to come up with and post the following Tutorial! I may have compiled this, but I first read this tip from way back when. So all credit to him, although I'm sure it's been round much longer still.

• HOME-MADE MODELLING FOIL TUTORIAL •

You will need:
• Tomato Puree Tube (Your choice of brand)
• Scissors
• Rolling Pin
• Hard Protected Surface
• Dish Cloth
• Heavy Book (Occult Grimoire of your choice)

1. Cut the Puree Tube on the cap side, just below where it tapers.
2. Squeeze out contents into the dish of your choice (or a small clean jar/bowl/container. Mine was a rather tasty Lasagne! Yum!)
3. Now that it's been emptied. Cut the sealed bottom with your scissors. You should now have a flat tube cut at both ends.
4. Carefully open one side and cut along the flattened edge with your scissors until your scissor blades come out the cut top end of the tube. BE CAREFUL. THE FOIL IS SHARP!
5. Open up the tube like you would open a book and carefully clean the insides to remove any tomato puree left over.
6. Carefully roll flat using a rolling pin avoiding causing any folds or wrinkles in the foil.
7. Place a dish cloth over the foil and flatten between a hard protected surface and a Grimoire of your choosing! In both circumstances mine were a small cutting board and a copy of by Owen S. Rachleff.
8. Leave for an hour or so and you will have a perfect new means by which to make your very owned perfectly scalled parchment, banners, purity seals, cloaks, tabards, etc.

I've included some examples of how I've used this material in the past in case you need some inspiration!

Let me know if you found this tutorial useful and please feel free to share!

is here. I intend on trying to get another miniature painted before the close of this year, but not having a focus and going where my energy has taken me has made this year a year with a surprising amount of gaming! I've had the chance to delve into some content creation for a favourite RPG of mine and have spent some time with friends rolling dice both here and overseas. Not to mention finally contributing to an awesome collaborative project and slapping some paint on some 2022 builds/concepts!

More in 2024!

Big thanks to all the folks who have kept me inspired and motivated this year.

and many more...
