Did you know Ireland is home to nearly 4 million sheep? 🐑

Not a baaaad piece of trivia, right?

At the Enterprise Ireland Irish Fashion & Beauty Reception at Zunfthaus zur Meisen in Zürich, it became clear why traditional Irish wool feels so at home in the Swiss Alps. Both cultures share a deep respect for the elements—and for garments built to outlast them.

For the Irish diaspora in the room, it wasn’t just about the fabric. It was:

🌿 The rugged landscapes and crisp Atlantic air
🧵 Generations of artisan tradition
☘️ A tangible piece of home

On the surface, an island surrounded by sea and an alpine plateau insulated by mountains seem worlds apart.

But when it comes to design, Ireland and Switzerland speak the exact same language.
We don’t chase fast fashion—we value durability, precision, and the story behind the stitch.

It’s no wonder Irish craftsmanship is finding such a natural home in Switzerland. It’s a shared respect for craft. ✨

Practice creative thinking out loud with us every other Tuesday at The Story Space, starting lunchtime on September 29th.

I take the same train to the studio a few times a week.

Recently, I stepped off the train automatically, only to realise I’d gone to far. I was supposed to be meeting a friend at the lake.

I had to backtrack.

Communication can get slumpy the same way from the same mental automation. When we repeat the same lines daily, we stumble when asked something unscripted.

But it’s an easy fix. We just need to flex our speech patterns. Give them a work out. A gym session but for words!

Articulation, is a physical motor skill, and like exercise, it requires consistent practice to support clear delivery and agile, off-script thinking.
