When Freddie White released his "Do You Do" album back in 1981, I was already a fan. I was 13.
That album was a collection of covers of all of his influences up to then.
The variety of styles, genres, topics and arrangements sang loudly to my "Entertainers" heart.
Long before I started giging.
I never had a favorite genre or artist so the variety here was like handing me a big bag of Liquorice-allsorts! (Google it).
When I eventually had soaked myself in that album and sat for hours and hours trying to play along to each song, I decided to go to the sources. Randy Newman, Tom Waits, Frank Zappa, Paul Simon, Carmichael, Warren Zevon etc.
Then came City Library
Maaan???? My musical world opened so wide.
One the these people who stuck with me all these years is the late Warren Zevon.
There was none like him before or since. For so many conflicted reasons.
"My Sh*ts F**ked Up" : Warren Zevon
"Enjoy Every Sandwhich": Warren Zevon.
Eugene Brosnan ? I think you'll agree my friend.
