Poetry this June is brought to you by new group Words Wander Back, certain to enrapture all in attendance

Tess holds an MA in Modern Literature from UCC. Her fiction appears in Channel and the anthology This is what it’s like to be in love with life. She regularly reads at the Words Wander Back open mic.

Mikayli Devi Dennehy has created various forms of radio and publications under the title “The Passage Between” and most recently collaborated on a Cork Fringe Festival show called “PlayRoomPlay.” She also published an anthology of Cork poets called “Chaos & Flowers.” She currently co-hosts the poetry open mic night called “Words Wander Back” in Cork City.

Rebecca Jane is a Cork-based poet who alongside Mikayli runs Words Wander Back. Her poetry has a personal frequently confessional tone as she explores complicated emotional waters.

Pádraig O' Connor is a writer based in Cork City. He has written and directed two plays. 'Blue Parting', his debut collection of poetry was released in 2025.

A city-wide trail of child-only play pods and cosy dens scattered across Cork City.
These are spaces designed by kids for kids. Lead Artist Chris Finnegan asked children from Cork what their city would look like if they were in charge. They wanted to play! PlaySpaces trail leads families on an exploration of secret hideaways and imaginative play installations developed in collaboration with children from across Cork City.
Funded by the Arts Council’s Arts in Early Learning and Childcare Scheme, Arts in Education Portal Documentation Award 2026 and Cork City Council through Creative Communities Scheme.

The Story of Us: Independent Ireland and the 1926 Census

We're delighted to host The Story of Us: Independent Ireland and the 1926 Census exhibition right here at St Peter's from the 7th to 27th July.

The 1926 Census has just been released to the public for the first time. This landmark exhibition brings it to life through real documents, images and audio-visual displays; revealing what everyday life looked like in the newly independent Irish Free State: from Cork's city streets to the islands, tenements to grand estates.

Part of a major national programme from the National Archives, with shows also running in Dublin Castle, London and Boston. We're so excited to be teaming up with Cork City and County Archives to bring this landmark exhibition to Cork.
