We are delighted to welcome Austin-based artist Colleen Blackard for a month long residency during August.
A monotype and installation artist, Blackard creates immersive works that blend landscape, mythology, and our relationship with the natural world. Her work is informed by extensive research and travel to remote sites, including ongoing investigations into Irish mythology and place-based storytelling. During her residency, she will develop a large-scale monotype installation exploring the agency of the landscape in Irish myth and humanity’s connection to it. Blackard is the recipient of numerous awards, including Pollock-Krasner and Elizabeth Greenshields grants, and has exhibited internationally across the United States, Europe, and Japan. Following her residency, Colleen will remain a member of Cork Printmakers until July 2027.
