As part of Cork Midsummer Festival actor and playwright, Irene Kelleher, will perform Footnote in the Cork Theatre Collective Studio at Triskel Arts Centre on June 14th, 16th & 17th, performing twice on June 16th and 17th, and opening on June 13th, she will perform Stitch in J.Nolan Stationary at 21, Shandon Street. She will perform two shows a day, every day of the festival, and on 14th June she is performing THREE shows in one day - Footnote at 1pm and Stitch at 9pm and a special Midnight show.
Written and performed by Irene, Footnote is directed by comedian and presenter Laura O’Mahony. With a decade of real life bookshop experience between them, they bring their hilarious insider knowledge to the stage – because truth, as always, is stranger than fiction. This laugh out loud, one woman comedy is a love letter to bookshops, book lovers, and anyone who’s ever had to smile through a ridiculous customer request. Designed by Cormac O’Connor, production manager is Michael Anthony Green.
Stitch is set on Shandon Street in 1989 and in this site specific production in J.Nolan Stationary at 21, Shandon Street, the audience will be dragged deep in to a world where the past lingers and the walls whisper. For those who dare, Stitch promises an unforgettable theatrical experience. Stitch is brought to life by the acclaimed team behind Gone Full Havisham: written and performed by Irene Kelleher, directed by Regina Crowley, sound and lighting by Cormac O’Connor, set design by Jenny White, costume design by Valentina Gambardella, Make Up Design by Maeve Readman and production manager is Michael Anthony Green
