Excitement is building for the opening reception this evening of within / without, an exhibition of new works by Mór Artists Collective at Fota House & Gardens!
Join us at 6pm to view work from 29 of our members, ranging dramatically in concept and approach, though all based around a common theme: boxes.
The museum collection held at Fota House contains almost 4000 items in total, including a large and varied number of ‘boxes’ for a wide variety of uses: travelling, leisure, domestic, decorative, medical and legal. The list is extensive and this year Mór Collective artists explored almost 100 containers shared in the library, presenting a sample of items across as many categories as possible. The artists drew inspiration from the forms, textures and histories of the artefacts.
Come along tonight and have an opportunity to meet the artists, all welcome!
The exhibition is free and open daily from 11am - 3pm. Parking is €3 per visit and funds are used for the continued care and development of Fota House for future generations.
Mór Artists Collective is facilitated by Greywood Arts and supported by Cork County Council and Waterford County & City Arts offices.
