MTRPLS A platform for the harder styles of electronic music.

09/10/2026

Just two weeks till Sunil Sharpe becomes the first techno DJ to close the main stage in the new Savoy.

A deserved honour, given the amount of work he has done for the electronic music scene in Ireland, but also a perfect fit in showcasing what techno is all about.

Banging tunes, technical skill and relentless energy. If you wanted to show your non-techno friends techno, you would them Sunil.

Jazz reigns supreme on the weekend of the 23rd, but in Sunil we have the best representation of what’s great about techno - will do us all proud 🖤

Complete Control 💿 What’s evident about Sunil Sharpe’s DJing is that no second is wasted in perfecting the mix.

Tweaking the pitch, managing the EQs - his movements are constant - but he never in any way seems under pressure.

Take the above clip: DJing vinyl in front of a full festival crowd would have most people feeling under the cosh. Whereas Sunil, while adjusting the mix and holding a vinyl under his arm, still effortlessly adds in chops to spice things up.

It is testament to years of playing the big occasions and evidence that our Jazz Weekend Special is in safe hands.

We are well into October, and quickly approaching the 23rd.

A month ago 🖤 Beautiful memories of our gig with Kerrie & Jon Hussey that will last a lifetime. The energy in Savoy’s Room 2 was pumping from start to finish.

Looking ahead it’s important for us to have that same energy on Jazz Weekend.

While the headliners do their thing on the main floor, Room 2 will be banging from start to finish. We have carefully put together a lineup to ensure this, and are making no comprises on production & sound.

Hot lineup for a hot room 🔥 set times will follow closer to the event.

Down to our very final Tier 2 tickets - last chance ;) Ticket link in bio đź”—
