As we close the chapter on our run of I Never Sang for My Father, we do so with immense pride and gratitude.

Our journey across the festival circuit has come to an end, and while we are, of course, deeply disappointed not to have qualified for the All-Ireland Final - particularly given how narrow the margins were - we leave this experience with far more gained than lost.

We want to extend our sincere thanks to the eight festival committees who welcomed us so warmly and offered such generous hospitality throughout. It never went unnoticed.

To the audiences we met along the way - thank you. Your generosity, your attention, and your response to the play meant more to us than we can properly express.

We are also hugely grateful to our local sponsors, whose support made it possible for us to bring this production on the road.

-Nolan's Supermarket
-Teeling Whiskey
-Staffords Funeral Homes
-Connolly's The Sheds
-Together Digital

For now, we take a short break. But we look forward to returning in the autumn with a new production - still to be decided - and to sharing the next chapter with you all.

Until then, thank you again!

🌟Spotlight #4 - Tom Singleton🌟

Tom, who recently directed the Odd Couple in November, plays Reverend Pell and also with (what’s left of his time) is the Stage Manager for the production. This is a play where the quality of stage management is evident in how invisible it is.

As we await our festival results this weekend, we thought it was a great opportunity to spotlight our wonderful cast and the characters they portray in "I Never Sang for my Father".

🌟 First up - Rory Dodd 🌟

Rory plays a number of roles in this production. On stage, he plays the railway porter in the opening scene and also the funeral director Marvin Scott. Before going on stage, Rory builds most of the set (usually starting at 11am) and all that goes with that including driving the CP van from venue to venue.

We wrapped up an incredible 8-show run on the All Ireland Drama Festival circuit, with a fantastic night at the Tipperary Drama Festival in Holycross. Huge thanks to the festival committee for their warm welcome.

We're eagerly anticipating the results from New Ross and Holycross this weekend when we'll know if we'd made the finals in Athlone 🤞

Stay tuned!!
