APPLEFEST IS MADE BY PEOPLE.

Every year, Clonmel Applefest is built on an extraordinary amount of community goodwill. People give their time, their energy, their ideas, their skills and, very often, just roll up their sleeves and do whatever needs doing.

This year’s theme was Care, and perhaps nowhere was that more visible than in the sheer force of goodwill that carried the festival through four very busy days.

So this is a huge thank you to our board, committee and festival team, who work for months behind the scenes to make Applefest happen. But most especially, to our team of dedicated volunteers. Applefest simply could not happen without you.

For a festival built around community, there could have been no better way to show that you care than by giving your time to make something wonderful happen in your town.

Thank you. You are Applefest.

A festival like Applefest simply doesn’t happen without a lot of people behind it.

A huge thank you to all of our funders, sponsors, partners and patrons who supported Clonmel Applefest 2026 and helped us bring four days of art, music, food, stories, nature and community to Clonmel.

Some support comes through funding. Some through sponsorship, spaces, expertise, food, equipment, time, ideas and a willingness to say, “Yes, we can help.” Every bit of it matters.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone pictured here for backing Applefest and helping us make this year’s festival happen.

Thank you for being part of it. Here’s to Applefest 2027 and our tenth year.

megaTrad have got the memo! Get to Clonmel for all the apples 🍎 

Tomorrow night they’re taking over the Railway Bar for our Harvest Hooley after a summer that’s taken them from All Together Now to Electric Picnic.

Live megaTRAD, hearty beef stew from James Whelan Butchers, apple pie from Café Bla Bla Bla, and DJ Lorcan keeping it going afterwards.

Saturday night sorted.

FOUR DAYS OF APPLEFEST

Four days. One town. A LOT going on.

Clonmel Applefest kicks off this Thursday, and from then until Sunday we’re filling Clonmel with live music, stories, street arts, food, wh***ey, walks, workshops, exhibitions, singing, apples and a few surprises along the way.

There’s plenty you can just turn up to for free, plus some brilliant ticketed events still open for booking.

Applefest starts here: Thursday

We’re off! Clonmel Applefest 2026 begins this Thursday, with stories, walking, making and a brand new book celebrating the people of Clonmel.

2pm | Voices of Clonmel Book Launch | Clonmel Library | FREE
Launch of the sixth book in the People of Clonmel series, with live music and refreshments.

5pm | Well Walk with Charlotte Emily Rose | Denis Burke Park | €12
A guided walk exploring Clonmel’s wells, their stories and their place in our landscape.

7–8.30pm | Threads of Care | Circular Square | FREE, registration required
A hands-on textile workshop with Brigid Teehan, exploring our hopes for ourselves, our communities and the future.

8.30pm | Clonmel StorySlam: Show That You Care | Baker’s Bar | €12
Eight storytellers. True stories. No scripts. One night of brilliant live storytelling, hosted by Joe Whelan.

Friday is packed, from a lunchtime pop-up choir to wh***ey, woodland and a choir you can actually join.

megaTRAD are taking over The Railway Bar for the Applefest Harvest Hooley after a summer that’s taken them to All Together Now, Electric Picnic and beyond.

What does an Irish farm produce? Food, livelihoods, biodiversity… and sometimes, award winning wh***ey.

Jennifer Nickerson of TipperaryBoutiqueDistillery Tipperary Distillery joins us for two very different Applefest events next weekend, both rooted in the land around us.

🥃 TIPPERARY WH***EY TASTING
Friday 25 September | 5.30pm
Donoughmore Club | €25

Jennifer takes us from barley to bottle, including 5–6 Tipperary wh***eys to taste, the story of the family farm at Grange outside Clonmel, and how its barley becomes wh***ey. Add live jazz guitar from Liam O’Reilly and the rather lovely surroundings of the Donoughmore Club, and Friday evening is sorted.

🌾 IRISH FARMERS: A LOVE STORY
Sunday 27 September | 5pm
Baker’s Bar | €8

Then on Sunday, Jennifer joins the conversation after a screening of Haven Worley's Irish Farmers: A Love Story.

The film follows farmers Ailbhe Gerrard, Carina Roseingrave and Sophie Bell, opening up a bigger conversation about the future of Irish farming: family farms, succession, biodiversity, food production and how we make a living from the land.

The post-film discussion is chaired by Dr Alan Moore, with Jennifer bringing the perspective of a local business whose product begins, quite literally, in a Tipperary field.

Come for the wh***ey on Friday. Come back for the bigger conversation on Sunday.

Clonmel Applefest made The Irish Times’ list of 25 of the best food and drink festivals across Ireland.

Food, harvest, music, arts, nature, stories, apples and a fair bit of Clonmel mischief. Turns out we’re in very good company.
